Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Tulia is certainly world class. We had a beautiful waterfront villa----literally, the water was only about 7 steps from our veranda. The villa was spacious with everything you could possibly need there. The meals were amazing----Gourmet Traveller magazine would be thrilled to feature them. The presentation and ingredients would be right at home at a Michelin restaurant---in fact better than some we've been to. The resort has it's own farm and bee hives and most of the ingredients are locally sourced---we had fish [cobia] which we love and have not seen elsewhere on the island. The staff must be hand picked for their wonderful attitudes and friendly natures. We only wished that we had been able to stay for more than the three nights.

We returned to this little piece of paradise and we will return again! Tulia is truly unique and the relentless commitment to really make you feel at home is unbelievable. Literally every single corner, meal, drink, staff and management are top-notch! The warm welcome and ultimately, the level of service is what really makes an impression. The service we experienced here again was just above and beyond. There was literally no request that wasn’t met with a quick and friendly “of course”, “not a problem”, “hakuna matata”.

Tulia is truly an amazing boutique hotel. We were warmly greeted by Petra and Radka. They seem to be omnipresent looking after all our needs. The Staff at Tulia was extremely warm, welcoming and caring. Our partial sea view room was extremely comfortable and we could spend hours in the balcony. The pool and the small artificial beach created above the real beach were extremely nice. The contrast between high and low tide stunning. The food was outstanding. Every dish presented in style and very tasty. The drinks and cocktails top notch. This was the only truly “all inclusive” property on our entire trip. Taxi to and back to airport or Stonetown included. ALL drinks included. One massage per person included. And it was one of the best massages ever. And when we were checking out Petra was there to see us off and plied us with a lot of gifts. Thank you Petra, Radka and the entire Tulia team. If I could would give them 10 stars

Simply WOW! We spent our honeymoon at the Tulia and were overwhelmed by this hotel - it's hard to top. From the moment we were welcomed, we felt right at home. Our room was super nice, big, clean and designed with a lot of love. We were able to enjoy a private yoga class on the terrace, a great service that put the icing on the cake. The whole complex is beautifully landscaped with a beautifully maintained garden and a great pool. We especially enjoyed the fact that it is such a small resort. There were sunbeds or seats at the pool at all times. We booked all-inclusive and would do it again and again. The food was amazing. Many ingredients are grown or kept on their own farm. From breakfast to dinner, everything was incredibly tasty, we couldn't eat and drink as much as we would have liked. The service was simply courteous and always cheerful, you could only feel good. We were absolutely thrilled with the hotel and it will certainly not be our last visit there - a great recommendation for all those who want to have a relaxed time where every wish is read from the eyes!

We stayed 6 days at Tulia. When we arrived after having had wonderful stays at Zuri and The Residence at significantly lower price for high quality. The critical issues are surrounding the quality of the rooms. We stayed at a beachfront villa. I’ll-configured, dark, poor materials; small shower, moldy toilet with an old bidet too low use; sinks without a place to put toiletries/soap; old towels; a hostel-style closet; faulty TV; most importantly an uncomfortable, cheap non-breathable foam mattress bed. On the positive sides: they have a impeccably groomed garden, with vegetable, spices and farm chicken/ducks; a very capable massage team; super friendly and attentive team. and an excellent chef in Mgeni.

We came to this hotel after going on a safari in Kenya to relax, and this resort met our expectations. We arrived very late on the first night and the hotel had arranged some food in our rooms which was very unexpected and thoughtful. All the staff are amazing, very friendly and supportive. The attention to detail for guest experience - such as beach’s hats and a beach bag, insect repellent among other things - was a very lovely touch. The only suggestions we would give for improvement are for more privacy around the shower area in the rooms (since it’s not only couples that would be sharing), a vegetarian option to be available on the menu, although the chef did prepare a vegetarian meal for us on request. Another suggestion is the availability of local snacks and dishes. Overall it was a great experience and we had a lovely time!

Gorgeous grounds, immaculate rooms, phenomenal food all topped with the most amazing service from the greatest staff (props to Radka!!) You can't go wrong with this property. It may not be for everyone, however: This place is mainly for relaxation (and eating!!). Location is pretty remote so not much to do off property. They have a small fitness center, kayaks, paddleboards and bicycles for use. Very nice spa. Understand the beach situation. The tides are crazy. They are way out where you can walk hundreds of feet to get to water or in crashing against the support wall. Not a lot in between. They have a raised area with sand and one with grass to use as "beach" to sun/rest but if you are looking for traditional beach you may be disappointed.

We stayed in a beach front villa for 6 nights after coming from Safari in the Serengeti and the room was exceptional. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we felt fully relaxed and looked after. An excellent place for anyone looking for a luxury resort for their honeymoon.
