It was our third visit to Welgevonden Game Reserve but the first time to Jamila Lodge. Good news first: The lodge is nice and the staff is friendly. Each room has its own private deck with an outside shower and Jacuzzi. There is also a boma where one evening, dinner was served around a fire which gives it a great...

The staff is very good but the facilities needs some upgrading and maintenance. Special thanks to Susan and Justinus who hosted us over Christmas. The environment is ideal for a good book and some rest and relaxation.

Excellent and relaxing weekend, we really enjoyed our stay and the food was excellent . The room had the best view ever while in the jacuzzi the rhinos drink water at the waterhole. We had never experienced such relaxing game drives and seen the most beautiful wild life.

We have enjoyed our stay at the Jamila lodge to the max. We where the only guests, which made it even more special. Host Suzan, chef John and ranger Justines made all our wishes and desires come true. Suzan made sure we felt welcome and is extremely good in creating a good atmosphere. Not one question was to much and...

We noticed that all the rangers in Welgevonden do not take the little critters into account... on the 2 game drives we were on, so many dungbeetles were driven over and squashed! I understand that most of the guests want to see the big 5, but it's the little guys that are important as well. They play a huge roll...

What an absolutely stunning getaway. Keeping a fine balance between 'homey' and luxurious, this private game lodge is South African hospitality at it's finest. Beautifully decorated with attention to detail, amazing food and friendly staff. Surrounded by the bushveld, there is plenty of wild to see on the game drives, with a knowledgable, helpful ranger. If you are lucky, some...
