Hosted our hockey team and one other team from the same town for 3 days and we couldn't be happier with overall experience! Hotel staff was ultra accommodating! Made our 3 night stay feel like we were at home and not in a hotel. Rooms were clean and very large. Access to lounge area great for large groups. Would definitely recommend this hotel. The chocolate smell as you enter the hotel lobby is also a nice welcome and tribute to the history of the building.
Stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights: * They don't allow to set a warmer temperature in my room. Temperature was the same during the night. It was very cold. * Hotel has only one elevator. * Not enough space in some areas.
When arriving at this hotel we were expecting Courtyard by Marriot standards but later found out it was a franchised owned which possibly explains why the standards weren't met. Besides the overall nastiness feeling of the room, the beds were very lumpy, the basic room amenities were lacking. Some of the REFILLABLE bottles in the showers were empty, there were only two towels and no bath mat. I asked for two days, three different people, if I could please get the items replaced and on our last day there, they left three bottles hanging on my door in a sack and I had to chase down the cleaning crew to get more towels and bathmat. The overall staff seem to be very miserable. There was usually only one person working at a time and it was difficult for them to manage all the issues. There were a couple of the ladies that were helpful but the overall reaction was being very short and rude. It seemed as if we were wasting their time. I checked out this morning and I wasn't even asked how my stay was, I was simply handed my invoice. As to the Bistro, subpar food (except for the french toast) and very pricy for what you get. Unfortunately, they do not provide free coffee in the morning in the lobby. They do provide a coffee pot in the room, but it wasn't stocked. Also be warned, my card was charged (not a hold) $80 at the time of check-in and then $20 per day until we checked out. I charged things to my room every day and when I left, I had a credit balance on my bill. Normally the charge remains "pending" on your card until you check out but not here. This practice seems to be a bit shady.…
Would never stay here again. The room was in poor condition and was not cleaned properly (hair and dirt all over the floor). Asked to switch rooms, no apology. Moved to another room and found two bugs in the room. Notified the front desk and they did not resolve properly, nor provide any follow up. Most of the time, the front desk is not staffed. Ended up waiting about 5 minutes at checkin, and also when I went down to have the room switched. Very poorly maintained rooms. Opened up a case with Marriott and was assured I’d hear from the hotel within 5 business days. No response after the case was opened, hence this review. Do not stay here
While the American town of Niagara Falls is a bit rundown and dominated by the casino, in addition to the obvious attraction of the falls, this is a clean, well-located and well run hotel. It is exactly what you expect from the brand with the added bonus of particularly large rooms. Courtyard can't get to 5 stars in my world but this is a solid 4-star experience.
Very clean, loved our 3rd floor patio, loved having Starbucks inside, loved the staff everyone was so helpful and friendly, especially Loretta. My only negative is that the beds are horribly uncomfortable, we tossed and turned all night every night as we stayed for 3 days. Please invest in better beds. The area is kind of run down as a whole for the town, but this particular hotel met and exceeded our expectations as it appears to be one of the nicest available in town and very close to the attractions.
The first thing that we didn’t like was that the room was dirty & bathroom didn’t looked like it had been cleaned very well. While the staff was friendly most seemed not well trained for their function. Although the woman who checked us in was extremely helpful we saw her the next morning at the Bistro as the barista and she was efficient & trying her best to serve everyone. There should have been more qualified help. All in all very disappointed in the property. We did have a glass of Chardonnay one night & were shocked they were charging $20 per glass! We would not choose this location in the future based on our visit.
I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Although the room was newly renovated, the overall service level of the front desk and bistro staff was most unprofessional. The room balcony was filthy with bugs, never cleaned. I reported this to hotel Manager who simply said “too many mosquitoes in Buffalo”. The food at the bistro was limited staffed by untrained and unprofessional staff. I requested to have the butter, which was frozen, to be melted a bit to which the staff responded to go do it yourself at the microwave. The bistro was shut down on a few days as the staff didn't show up for work.
It is Sunday morning, the first day of May and a beautiful morning (at least for now) in Niagara Falls, NY, where we are staying at the Niagara Falls Courtyard. We arrived here last night after a six hour drive from Ann Arbor where we attended the University of Michigan graduation. We chose this hotel in part because it was approximately half way between Ann Arbor and our home in Albany plus it offered an opportunity to see the falls from a vantage point different from the Canadian side, where we typically stay when traveling between Michigan and New York. Having driven nearly 400 miles and arriving at 10:00 pm, we were very pleased to be welcomed by Chris who checked us in a personable, yet professional manner. Besides giving us our room keys, she gave us a quick overview of the hotel’s amenities, directed us to a luggage cart and then the elevator. This is the third Marriott property that we have stayed in during this trip and Chris’s welcome was by far the best we had received Also, when I asked about what seemed to be a hint of a chocolate scent in the entry way, she explained that the building used to be a Chocolate Factory. Maybe the gods were at play because I am a big fan of Chocolate Upon entry into our third floor room, we were first taken aback by its size but then realized that we had been staying in Residence Inns , whose suites are noticeably larger. Having said this, the room was perfect for the two if us, had a king size bed, a couch and sitting area, a desk, and even a small balcony. It was decorated in what I would call semi-modern and everything was clean and the bathroom had plenty of towels, etc. Besides Chocolate, I also am a fan of Marriott pillows and was pleased to see the bed had four pillows plus a backing to sit up against. Our one complaint was the lack of enough coffee packets (only two) and we had to go down to the lobby to purchase two Starbucks coffees which were excellent as was the service we received from Rachel. We then headed off to the Niagara Falls State Park, which was a relatively easy mile walk away. Overall, on a five point scale, I give the Niagara Falls Courtyard a rating of 4.5 I know this is long, but after checking in, I read some of the earlier reviews and we did not experience any of the problems mentioned in these. I hope that anyone who stays at this hotel has the same positive experience we have had.…
Our Youth Hockey Team traveled to Niagara to play a tournament at Dwyer Arena. We had the pleasure of staying at Courtyard from 10/7 through 10/11. Let me start of by saying Ken and his front desk staff were wonderful and accommodating. During the entirety of our stay, I didn’t hear any complaint from our team members about the hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean. The lobby/lounge/eating areas were comfortable. The restaurant was closed however we certainly benefited as we used the tables for our take out meals. The location worked well for us, since it was minutes away from Dwyer arena We also had a wonderful experience dealing with a Sales Manager by the name of Tia, she assisted us with booking the meeting room for our Team events. Although everything was done through email, she made the process simple & easy. Tia and Ken thanks for all that you do. This hotel will always be on top of our list when we are traveling to Niagara.…
