We had a scary incident when staying at this hotel. Basically someone tried to forcibly enter our room at 4am. The rooms had no locks other than a badly fitting bolt inside. The police came and they found the person who did it and all ended ok. We were traumatised by the incident but no harm was done. Since that... More

My wife and I stayed at The Borland during a recent weekend trip to Montgomery for her high school reunion. She is from the area and I grew up nearby. We noticed the Borland property before in our trips through Montgomery, but usually stayed with relatives. This time we decided to try a B&B. The house is well over 100... More

We have stayed here with previous owners on several occasions. However on our last visit we met the new owner; Anna and had high expectations on another wonderful weekend. Within minutes we realized this was not the charming B&B as in the past. 1:Security issues- front door electronic entrance code written on inside door for all non staying guests to... More

We take the security of our guests an their items very seriously and since your stay in the early part of 2016, there have been many changes to our security. We have new locks on bedroom doors and the universally accepted best home security systems, ADT. That being said there has never been an incident of any kind and the... More

This is a great spot that feels more like a little Inn than a B&B. We stayed in the Montgomery room, which was really big and had lovely furniture. We went in early spring and it was very cozy. The brunch is outstanding. It is seasonal, creative and very well made. I can't overstate how good it is. It doesn't... More

The town is quite, the people are hospitable, and Borland House is perfectly comfortable if you just want to get away and relax. We ended up staying a couple weeks due to a relocation effort, and we enjoyed every minute of it. Hope to go back in a more vacation effort soon.

Our Hanlon Suite was large and impressive, but strangely decorated and very much in need of an update. The Montgomery Suite would have been a better choice: recently renovated and with nicer views. We would not recommend late arrival, as there was just a note on the door with instructions, not a person to greet us. There was no ice... More

Dear JS Scheibe, We are sorry your stay was less than perfect. We do strive to make everyone's stay extra special and take it very seriously when their experience is not. We are always working to improve our rooms and just upgraded the Hanlon Suite this week. We also try to accommodate arrivals at any time of the day if... More

This was our first visit to the Hudson River Valley - and we were pleased with our choice to stay with the friendly folks at the Borland House. If you are a seasoned B&B guest - this location comes with a twist that might be new to you (as it was to us). As was mentioned in another post, Borland... More

I am at a lost for words when it comes to describing The Borland House. When attempting to explain my experience to friends and family, the first adjective that comes to mind is "amazing". The second "gorgeous". Truth be told, I miss it. I had the absolute pleasure of staying with Anna and her family for almost four weeks. Did... More

Beautiful Greek Revival Style B & B right in the middle of a lovely town. Everything you need is within a few blocks walk. Your host Anna goes out of her way to make you feel like it's your home. Home is like stepping back into the early 1800's. If you love early American old world charm this the place... More

It is a great location8n and the accommodation was terrific. Our room was small but very private and all facilites were great. We had booked as a bed and breakfast, assuming the breakfast was included. Instead, there was a credit voucher for the breakfast that could be used towards the cost of the breakfast. The dining room doesn't open until... More

We are happy you had a nice time with us at the Borland House. We are sorry to hear your breakfast experience was less than perfect.
