The Hotel is rather dark and gloomy. There's nothing that expresses a holiday by the sea in that lovely area. Dark wood and depressing nature of the room made us feel like prisoners in the room. Bathroom kind of dispiriting as well.
Found this place through Bring Fido. It is dog friendly and allows more than one large dog, which is a plus and hard to find. The property is well-located. Those are the only positive things I can say.

We had a pleasant stay at the Hitherhouse. We rented the North cottage July 20-24/2017. It is much nicer in person than the pictures on the website. It was clean and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful.
We would go back again. Miss Montauk already!
While there were plenty of cutlery and dishes, there were no seasonings or paper goods, except a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. Of course we were early in the season. To be safe, I'd bring your own.
