The staff is not friendly at all. They take the towels every day but do not replace them. I had to call front desk three times to request towels and I was told that there was no one available at the moment. The smell in the bathroom is not good, is a combination between cigarette and weed. Regarding the “breakfast” it was sad. It should not been considered in the category of breakfast included
Disappointed, my son and I were there from May 28 to June 1. NEVER BUT NEVER did they clean the room, they didn't pick up the trash, they didn't make the beds, no cleaning towels. I spoke to a housekiping on Saturday and she told me what would happen. NEVER came. We left and the garbage from the days we were staying there remained. NEVER AGAIN.
My wife and I stayed here for three nights in mid-May, largely because it was the cheapest high-rated hotel near the 39th Avenue metro station, which we use to visit our son in Astoria, and because the reviews suggested that there was at least a possibility of finding parking nearby, though none is available through the hotel. The hotel was satisfactory - a very clean, comfortable room of reasonable size for NYC. We had to be VERY patient with the heat; according to one staff member, the hotel had switched to summer settings and A/C was quick, but heat takes a while. No, I didn't get it either, but it was certainly true. There was plenty of hot water for showering, but patience was required, and then it was hard to get it hot enough without being too hot. Housekeeping was erratic; we declined it the first morning, and then didn't see them again until our last evening when we were offered clean towels. Breakfast was very limited - a bag with a muffin, a fruit cup, a protein bar and a small bottle of water each day. No choices, no variety. At the moment, there is serious construction going on across the street, which went on all night once - not good for light sleepers. Parking proved to be as variable an experience as the reviews suggest. The first night, we got a spot right by the front door, the second night we found a spot two blocks away, and the third night nothing. I think it is highly dependent on the day and time you arrive - get there much after 5:00 and everything's taken. The current construction right across the street complicates everything - including understanding what the signs on the street mean. The good news is that there is a very satisfactory fallback - a lot about two blocks away that only charges $20 per day. I used it the last day and had absolutely no problem. Since this hotel is pretty inexpensive for the area, if you have to pay an extra $20 for parking, it's still a decent value. Location: Safe, walkable neighborhood with just a few restaurants around. Easy walking distance to two different metro stations. On a fairly steep hill, and the nearby construction makes walking a bit perilous for us elderly folks.…
Is a ripoff!!! Find something else if you can! Heat and ac don’t work. Reported to front desk sent someone to check but still didn’t work. Breakfast is very bad for the hotel price. People smoking and arguing
The clerk at the front desk was great. He had a lot of patience with me and helped me with every request I asked for. And I called him several times and each request he handled it quickly. Even sent the maintenance man to my room right away
