Stayed in mid May and thought I posted this review but I didnt realize I never finished it. Anyway, here it is. We booked a lakeside suite for our anniversary having previously stayed in Owls Head Cabin a few years ago. Upon arrival we were shown to our suite on the second floor which is the top floor of the... More

No one at this hotel could tell us where the local hiking trails were. Staff spoke poor English. We had to go find a concierge at nearby hotel to get information. All this for 600 plus a night. We want a refund for three nights

We had dinner at the Lake placid lodge. Maggie's Pub. The entire experience exceeded our expectations. The outdoor seating was well managed even for a cool September evening. They have thought of everything from blankets to heaters. The food was outstanding as was the service.

We did not stay here. We just visited with friends who live in the area to have drinks and experience the ambiance of the lodge. This is a beautiful hotel with great view of Lake Placid. I understand this may be a pricey place to stay. The public areas are beautiful. We could see that every room had a view.... More

We stayed in a lakeside cabin. Wow. They are right on the lake. Each one has two adirondack chairs right on the lake front. The beds are all unique and handmade- picture large branches and logs. They are very high (you may need to use the stepstool or take a running leap) but I believe that is so you can... More

A last minute change of plan caused by tropical storm Hermine brought us back to the Lodge. Our room overlooked the Lake and was quiet and comfortable. We eat in both Artisans-excellent both in terms of food quality and service-and Maggies-more modest but also very good. It is not inexpensive but the level of service and charm of the staff... More

We had dinner at Artisans and it was outstanding to say the least. The service was impeccable and the food was superb. Tony and Mimi were so attentive and professional. Chef Hannon's attention to detail and presentation were noteworthy. It reminded us of a memorable dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in Napa Valley, Auberge du Soliel.

I will say before starting that I don't mind paying for luxury. Cost is not the issue. However, at this price point, one should be able to expect a flawless stay, one that leaves you satisfied and relaxed and without hiccups; where everything is easy, and where you are not left shaking your head wondering where the money is being... Nice view but very over priced and not worth it. Try The View at Mirror Lake Inn instead. Entrees over seasoned and server rude. I expected a very special dining experience and was left disappointed in the service and food quality. I could not recommend nor would I return.

This is a magnificent lodge, beautifully located on the shores of Lake Placid. It was a bit too pricey to stay for a week, but we had a wonderful dinner on their dining balcony overlooking the lake. The food was fresh and the wait staff was friendly and informative without being sticky. This is such a beautiful part of the... More
