I got charged 50$ a night here for four days leading up to Ethiopian Christmas. It's not a 50$ a night hotel. At first blush it looks quaint with a central courtyard and rooms around it. But once you check in you'll see the crumbling edges, the peeling false floor and the horrendous design for the toilet that leaves the...

The three of us rented two rooms here for our stay in Lalibela and really enjoyed ourselves. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating and it's just across the road from a pricier hotel if you want dinner/wifi (the guesthouse wifi didn't work when we were there). Others have complained about bugs/mosquitoes - we were here just before the rain...

In the rather overpriced village of Lalibela, this place is a good pick for budget travelers. It is reasonably priced (I have paid 15$), clean and the manager is extremely friendly. He will help you with everything and can also recommend reliable guides. I didn't rate it excellent, because the Wifi was extremely slow, which is not an issue in...

Very happy with this guesthouse in Lalibela. Clean, comfortable rooms with everything you need - clean towels and toilet roll were brought as soon as we arrived. A hot shower - something that was much welcome after a week of dusty, no frills travel. Beds are comfortable. Bedclothes were clean and no sign of bugs anywhere. The owner is such...

The accommodation is a bit aside from the main city center (that is chaotic and loud). So you can chill out and get some rest. At the same time, it's a walking distance to the churches. The owner is nice, helpful and well informed - we enjoyed discussions about Ethiopia etc over breakfast a lot - exactly the kind of...

We spent two nights in Heaven Guest House. It was the first hot shower I got in a week in Ethiopia. The location is nice and quiet, there is a great restaurant right across the street with wifi and it is within walking distance to all the churches. The owner is very kind and the staff is wonderful as well....

Generally, I would recommend the Jerusalem across the street. The owner is very nice, the breakfast decent and the rooms average, but the bugs override the pluses.

the room was a bit pricy for ethiopian standards at 15 US dollars but the room was clean and the owner nice. the electric worked and the shower had hot water. there were no mosquito nets though so there was constant buzzing in our ears at night. it was also a bit of a hike to the churches, but overall...
