The motel was just a few miles from the races I was attending for the evening, so for me, the location was ideal. I stayed in one of the rooms in the back section which is tucked into the hillside at the edge of the woods. Once I put my luggage in the room, I went outside to sit and... More

While the place was indeed imacculate, it was a bit sparton and lacked in hospitality. The room had one chair, a small fridge and microwave. There was no hair dryer or ironing equiptment. The walls were painted white and bare and the plastic was still on the lampshade. There WAS a cieling fan. There is no tub, just a very... More

My sister and I spent 12 days there. The wooded grounds, the motel itself and the cleanliness of the room were pristine. Of all the motels we have stayed in over the years, the Chelsea Motel was absolutely perfect: from the courteous and kind proprietors, the very reasonable rates, the extremely comfortable mattress, pillows and spotless linens, and the feeling... I visit my son and his family every year, and ALWAYS stay at the Chelsea Motel. Room #7 is my favorite, which the lady that owns the place, makes sure that I get this room. The room is very clean, has a refrigerator, a microwave, ac, a flat screen and free wifi. A coffee maker would be nice, but I... More

My wife and I stayed here on our way to the Old Rhinebeck Airshow. Most motels in the area were well over $100/night with many at $200. The Chelsea was a great deal at $75, although no breakfast is included so a fairer comparison to most other motels is probably $95 (we paid $23 at the local diner for breakfast).... More

My room at the Chelsea Motel was so clean--I mean CLEAN and that is the #1 thing in my book when I am staying somewhere. The second thing is quiet--and it was indeed, quiet. The location is excellent--trailheads everywhere and Minnewaska just up the road. There was an immaculately clean, small refrigerator in the room and a microwave as well.... More

This was absolutely the cleanest motel I've ever stayed in! A little out of date but immaculate! The beds were a little hard and it's a little old school, but flat screen tv and internet too. Towels were fluffy, sheets a little thin. However, we were greeted by the owner running out at us, angrily shouting STOP. We did have... More

We booked a room for the 12th and 13th we came back today to have our room cleaned which I know most people don't care but if it is specified they clean every day we ask that they don't which we weren't aware of. A piece of clothing got misplaced, our heat was turned down and the fridge had been... More

Stayed there in December. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Had a delightful stay and would definitely return. We enjoyed free wi-fi in our room and the close proximity to Lake Minnewaska and Mohonk.

This is an older basic motel so you shouldn't expect a lot, but it's clean, the bed is comfortable enough, and everything works. If what you need is a shower and good night's sleep, this is your place. If you stay in the winter, your room may be a little cold when you first get into it. The heat works... More
