Russ and his wife are a retired couple and super-friendly hosts. Their home is about a 15-minute drive north of Hudson in Stockport, NY. To get to your room, you pass through their living room, where they may sitting and watching TV. So it feels a little more like being someone's house guest. Our room was actually *bigger* than how it looked in the photo. But it was cooled by a noisy window unit which was kind of near the bed. A little better to stay here when you don't need the A/C. Bed was quite comfortable. Russ is seriously into ballooning and was good enough to show us his work space and tell us about his hobby. If weather allows, you can arrange to go on balloon rides.

We stayed at the Balloon BNB in early October for just one night. It was a last minute change in our itinerary and we were easily accommodated here. We took a drive earlier in the day, as it is a little outside of town, and we wanted to make sure we could find it easily when we returned there later that night. We were greeted by Russ, the owner, outside sweeping the front porch, and explained we were just stopping by to find the location and that we would be back later that evening. Russ, greeted us like we were old friends and took us for a tour of his house and the room we would be staying at. The house is beautiful inside and extremely clean. We stayed in a downstairs King bedroom, which had our own private bath and doors that led to the outside patio. Russ told us to come in when we came back that night and that he would leave a light on for us. When we returned, our room was very inviting and we were very comfortable. There were other guests staying as well but you would never know. The house was very quiet. The next morning, Russ made us a gourmet breakfast with yogurt and fresh fruit, eggs and bacon, toast, coffee, juice etc.... It was delicious! Russ is a local Hot air balloon pilot and he regaled us with stories and showed us his workshop! He's an older gent and I felt like I was staying with family. We definitely plan on returning!
