My girlfriend and I just returned from a night at the new property in the Inn at Ca' Mea selection. We had to leave a rental property because it had problems and at 11 PM on a Saturday we were lucky to find Max who received our call and quickly arranged a room in their new property on Warren St. The room we stayed in was brand new - we wondered if we were the first to stay in it. It was very clean, had a lovely bathroom, and a very comfortable bed. The air conditioning was excellent and the linens were crisp. There was a fully-equipped smart TV that we did not use, but looked good. There was also a comfortable place to sit. Add to this a reasonable price for the summertime in Hudson and you have lodging that is very worthwhile.
We had an accommodation that sleeps four people and it was a wonderful stay. Rooms were clean, comfortable beds, great shower, lovely porch to sit out on, and wonderful service from the co-owner/manager. My family and I really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
We stayed at Ca' Mea for two nights. The room was of a good size and clean, it was on the ground floor and was accessed via a few steps. The free on street parking was easy to find and the inn was virtually in the center of the town. The quality of the internet was very poor ranging from non existent to very slow.
We stayed at the Victorian mansion on Allen Street, room 11, for two nights. The house itself is gorgeous, and the room was spotless. That said, the experience lacked the human touch, and at times felt a bit creepy not knowing whether we were the only ones in this giant house. The innkeepers do not greet you upon arrival; instead, they send you texted instructions with unlock codes, WiFi password and parking info. We had to text back when we could not get into our room based on the written instructions and someone came over within five minutes to help us, but he took off in a flash once the door was opened. Turns out the instructions were incorrect, but also proved that someone had been in the area and could have greeted us to make us feel more welcome in the first place. The WiFi instructions were slightly off as well, ut it didn't matter much since once I got it running, it only worked sporadically throughout our stay. At night the cable went in and out as well. There is no breakfast, but they do put out fixings for tea and coffee which you can heat up in a small microwave, along with some cookies and fruit. Despite the beauty of the first floor rooms, we did not utilize them, as it was kind of a creepy feeling to be in a giant house and not knowing if anyone else was around. We saw a few cars in the parking lot and heard some footsteps on the second day, but that is it. For the price we paid I would have expected a little more of a personal touch. …
Although I was only able to spend one short night at this B&B, I can report that it is exceptionally nice--warm and inviting. It's very centrally located, and access to your room is via door codes which management forwards to you the day before your stay. My room (number 1) was very ample, with all of the necessary amenities, including a safe, ironing board, and small sitting area; the bed was comfortable. I was impressed that the bathroom had two soap bars--one for the shower and the other for the sink. I've been in too many so-called deluxe hotels that parcel out only one bar of soap in the bathroom, causing you to have to ferry it between the shower and the sink. Definitely a reliable B&B that perfectly fits in with the lovely community of Hudson.
