Another wonderful, unique camp from the Bushcamp Company. Run by the great host, Alex with her super friendly and efficient team, we had such a fun , enjoyable couple of days at Bili. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, with lots of beautiful locally sourced wood used for the floors and furniture, and a great outdoor shower as well as an indoor shower. The food was very fresh and tasty , with breakfast served by the river and brunch and dinner served in various locations by the lagoon. We had the legendary, so knowledgable Manda as our guide and had some great game drives and walks , with some particularly special leopard sightings. We will definitely go back to stay at Bili again!

I've visited Bilimungwe (Bili) many times and I always refer to it as the "happy camp" because the staff is so very friendly! Year after year I never tire of the great food and perfect location for wildlife viewing. They have added a new "star deck" since my last visit which invites you to dine or just go out and enjoy the dark starry night skies. I personally love the outdoor showers (but each room also offers an indoor shower if you prefer!) The food is outstanding and the breakfast area along the river for sunrise and hippos in the river is the only way to start your day.

Being welcome by song should have told us how special our stay at Bili was going to be. The entire staff greeted us by singing "Welcome to Bili!" The tent rooms are gorgeous and huge. Private decks over the lagoon allow for relaxation and great animal sightings. Our game drives were spectacular. Hyenas retrying to steal baboons from a leopard, the endangered wild dogs hunting, huge lion tracks on our breakfast paths, roaring at night, the list goes on and on. We had Sundowners on the Kapamba river, wood fired pizza in the bush and delicious meals on the lagoon deck and on the brand new star deck. It was an amazing trip!

We had the pleasure of staying 2 days and 2 nights with Alex and her excellent staff at "Billy" and game viewing nearby. The animals are all very close at hand, you'll watch elephants and hippos make their way through camp from your tented chalet.. Safety proceedures are in place for your safety, be aware of your natural surroundings and trust the staff! Gj

wow where do i start. The first of my bushcamps after spending 1 night at Mfuwe Lodge (which was great) and oh my goodness. Beautifully remote with no wifi or phone reception which is the best way to spend in Africa. Alex the manager is just amazing and makes you feel like family even after only 4 days. Manda is the greatest Guide ever, so informative, so friendly and knows SO much. All the staff here were just so wonderful, helpful and friendly. The food is just incredible with 3 courses of exquisite food each night. Breakfast on the river, wow! The game driving was fabulous and saw so much. But even when you are chilling out in your room during siesta between morning and afternoon drives, the wildlife is fabulous. I never dreamed i would have a beautiful elephant place his trunk on my balcony floor. The rooms are exquisite and so private - love the outdoor shower while you watch all the ellies right near you. Alex, Manda and everyone, thankyou for the most amazing few nights at Bili. I have been to Africa a few times, usually overlanding or backpacking, so this was a step up for me. And wow, bucket list kinda stuff! You also get to meet other really interesting travellers and it is amazing how you can bond so quickly mainly because everyone there is so passionate about wildlife. Thanks again. I so hope to return.

Bilimungwe was our first stop at the Bushcamp Company in South Luangwa and it was an amazing start. The staff, food, and accommodations are all top notch. The views, wildlife, and nature were simply magical. Alex and Manda made our first safari an unforgettable experience.

"Bili" is truly a special place, a beautiful camp in a stunning location. Alex, the camp manager, will immediately put you at ease and ensure that your stay is truly memorable. The chalets are beautiful with stunning viewing platforms overlooking the watering holes, complete with resident Harry the hippo, and the meals were all utterly brilliant. Our guide was Mandu whose knowledge was quite exceptional. The walking safaris gave Mandu an opportunity to really share his encyclopaedic knowledge. As if the location within the National Park and Team had not already made the visit special enough, the Team then surprised us with us with "sun-downers" in the river at sunset...a true memory that will last with us all forever. Thank you all!

A HAPPY PLACE!! Review of Bilimungwe Bushcamp - The Bushcamp Company As a person who has the Wanderlust and the need to experience new places and new adventures the fact that this is my third visit to Bilimungwe (locally known as Bili) emphasises the fact what a special place this is (enhanced by the fact it has no phone or internet connections). Bliss! My previous visits were in Sept. 2016 and Aug. 2018). Bili is one of six Camps owned and run by The Bushcamp Company and is a two and a half hour safari drive from the main Mufwe Lodge with guaranteed sightings of a variety of game en route, and a great possibility of seeing leopard! On arrival at Bili the staff ‘choir’ sing their welcome together with a smiling Camp Manager Alex and Harry the resident Hippo grunting his welcome from the lagoon just in front of the main reception/dining area and four Chalets, which had all been re-thatched since my last visit. The Chalets, raised above the ground, are luxuriously beautifully furnished and are extremely comfortably spacious with indoor and outdoor hot and cold showers. Each has a private deck overlooking waterholes where families of elephants come to drink and play in the mud while numerous other game join them. All meals are freshly prepared using herbs and some salads grown in the ‘kitchen garden’ and are of exceptional variety with every effort having been made to suit all tastes and dietary requirements. The warm and professional attentiveness of Alex and all the staff quickly ensures you feel relaxed and ‘at home’ and must be down to Alex’s ability to make each and every guest feel they are not only guests but friends. Manda, Bili’s outstanding resident award winning guide is up there with the likes of David Attenborough with his amazing knowledge of African flora and fauna from the tiny termites to the mighty elephants and even after a day of guiding and answering questions, is still ready to answer any more over dinner. Safaris are an adventure not knowing what you are going to see and where and the amazing variety of wildlife takes your breath away…..families of elephants, herds of plain game, huge herds of buffalo. a ‘tower’ of giraffe, pride of lions with cubs and leopards with kill but the absolute thrill for me was a pack of wild dogs both hunting and resting with Very full tummies!! At the end of my six day stay at Bili I realise once again what makes me return to Bili and the Bushcamp Company. It’s the knowing you are in the Bush surrounded by its wildlife in its natural habitat and being safely looked after by people whose aim is to ensure your time with them puts you in a Happy Place with forever memories. Thank you Bili and until we meet again!!

We loved our stay with Alex and her team. The food, camp, staff, etc were all so lovely and a great option on the Bushcamp Company camps stops for a walking safari in South Luangwa. We were set right in front of the lagoon so could keep an eye on the resident hippo. Great game viewing in the area and great bush walks.
