We stayed one night in the lodge and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was nice to sleep in proper beds once (we always camped the other nights) and have a nice shower. Each lodge has nice views over the valley, where we alreays spotted a lot of giraffes and some oryx from our veranda. The lodge price includes dinner and...

Palmwag Lodge has a fantastic camp site with great facilities and a wonderfull view. We spent the whole afternoon and evening on our "terrace" and watched an elephant that spent its day right next to our site. The staff is very friendly. We had a great time there. As I mentioned in the headline. They have a small workshop on...

On our 3 week tour of Namibia, this was the most expensive place we stayed. We stopped there as we had 25 years ago on our first visit to the country. It is now very up-market and worth a visit if you want some luxury. We found all the staff very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was nothing special...

Nice place but the staff was very rude and untrained.Very disappointed with the service we got from the time we arrived. Please check your bill when you check out. They just load anybody's items on your bill. There was no one to assist us with carrying our bags when we checked in and out. I had two old folks with me and...

I really liked the new tents/bungalows here. You could get a cross breeze and they have a fan. It is very hot during the day. The pool is freezing! We also stayed in a family unit, which didn't have screens on the windows and it was so very hot, that we had to open the windows and the mosquitoes ate...

A good location to our way to Etosha. During the night we had the visit of 2 zebra's walking 5m before our location which made this stay special. You'll find no luxury here but friendly staff and basic but good loction and clean facility.

So I actually really loved this place. The food was decent and the game drive they offered at PM was worth the money. Just one thing tho. And it's not the first time this happened on my trip. The personnel is so incredibly slow. To make up a bill (while Im standing next to her) doesnt have to take you...

This lodge is very isolated but blends into the countryside unobtrusively. The chalets are spacious and thatched, so they are cool at midday. The staff are friendly and helpful but there are virtually no facilities other than the swimming pools. There is no shop, not even a postcard to buy. The food is good but dinner is a set menu...

We didnt expected a lot from this place and were very surprised .Saying this take in mind that there are differences between the rooms. Our family had 3 different kind of rooms and there was a big difference between the rooms. The room that was in the courtyard next to the dinning room was basic and the bathroom is a little...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A paradise on the Uniab River in northwest Damaraland - a vacation opportunity with a difference. Waving palms whispering in the wind, spectacular surroundings which harbour the famous desert elephant, the rare black rhino, giraffe, zebra, gemsbok and many other wild animal species, sunsets to dream of. This is Palmwag Lodge, one of Namibia's oldest and most popular tourist rendezvous. The predator population is the largest outside of the Etosha National Park, with over 100 lions, cheetah, leopard, brown and spotted hyena. Bird life is prolific and diverse with most of Namibia's endemics present. This concession supports a healthy population of desert adapted black rhino and elephants, under the management of the Save the Rhino Trust. ... more   less
