Hideout lodge is efficiently run by George, a Ghanaian, as the Swedish owner has been away studying for the past 2 years. We decided to rent the 2 bed villa, presumably once the owner's home, for ourselves and our 2 daughters. It is a spacious detached property, well situated a little way from the hotel with sea views. It felt...

I did a day's trip on a Ghana public holiday to the hideout for the beach and just to get a calm place. It is about 45min drive from Takoradi. About 20 mins after getting of the main highway. The access road to the lodge is good even though it's not tarred. I will recommend taking 4x4 vehicle. Hideout is...

This was the first place we arrived to when we came to Ghana and we stayed a week instead of 3 days (only because we had a meeting in Accra afterwards) and the remaining time of our holiday we looked for something comparable. We had lobster with white wine next to a bon fire at a tropical beach for really...

I have been here on a day trip from Busua to enjoy the pristine beach and the paradisiac environment surrounding the Hideout Lodge, near Butre. Even if I did not sleep, I enjoyed the amazing cuisine and the location of the lodge right on the beach. The employers are kind and available for any request. Canoe trip on the nearby...

We've been here several times now and love it every time. George, Comfort, Chef Nicolas and the whole staff make it a warm and comfortable place to stay. Everyone has a smile and is eager to please. We feel like we are visiting friends when we arrive. We just spent a four nights and our 7 year old son did...

Hideout is the best guesthouse in Ghana. It has an unbelievable location on Butre beach and is secluded in the best possible way. Whether you travel alone or with others, you will have an unforgettable stay with George, Kofi, Comfort and the rest of the staff. It is spotlessly managed, endlessly friendly and the food is incredible (and cheap!). Definitely...

This was by far the best place I stayed in whilst travelling in Ghana. It was a short trip so was only able to stay for two nights but wish we could have stayed for much longer. The beach is stunning, the staff were friendly and very helpful (best service we received throughout our trip to Ghana!), the food was...

Kudos to George Eshun, manager of Hideout and his staff. Christmas and New Years was incredibly busy, but they made every moment memorable. Hideout is a jewel tucked along the most incredible beach, safe for swimming and enjoying body boards. There is no end to the tranquility. Although isolated, the lodge is easily accessible by taxi and there is nothing...

The most amazing and special place- we loved it. Great service and food as well-especially the fish and lobster. It is definitely worth the journey-if you go arrive by bus into the village and be transported into paradise over the rickety bridge. If you go to Ghana you must visit this place.
