The mattress is coated with hard and plastic coating, plus another plastic coated cover on top of it, the bed is extremely uncomfortable and it makes a lot of noise when you move even slightly. The sheets are also hard and uncomfortable. I have traveled around the world and this type of setup is a first to me. Nobody should... More

Dear Ms. QinQin: We are very surprise to read this comment about our beds as customers often ask where to purchase them. We do not have any plastic coating on our mattresses but will certainly investigate this and be in touch with you immediately. Our mattresses are all brand new: replaced last year and they are the Simmons pillow top... More

A clean, comfy, friendly place within walking distance to the harbor! The owners are absolutely wonderful and went above and beyond to accommodate us and make our stay even more pleasurable! Staff also helpful and friendly! A yummy continental breakfast included which was an added bonus! I cannot say anything negative about the Greenporter Hotel and will definitely be visiting... More

Greenport is a charming village on the North Fork, and considering the amount of real estate covered by the Greenporter, it's a pity there isn't more effort and care put into the decor and overall aspect of the rooms. Spartan furnishings is a kind way to describe the utilitarian aspect of the Greenporter. I was sorry to notice dirt and... More

Dear Ruthblue28: Thank you for choosing the Greenporter Hotel for your visit to our wonderful walking Village. We are sorry that you found the room rate of $149 per night, not in alignment with your expectations but for this region (North Fork of Long Island) and season (the harvest), we really try to offer the best value for the quality... I love the North Fork and Greenport is my favorite town because you can walk to all the bars, restaurants and shops, if you are staying right in the Village. I have stayed at a few B&Bs which were very nice but lacked the flexibility and privacy that I prefer. I like the chill retro vibe of the Greenporter and... More

The Greenporter Hotel is nothing more than a nice motel with outrageous prices, but if that is okay by you, then it's a very good hotel in a great location. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are average at best, and the amenities are standard. The best part, I felt, was the included breakfast. It was a simple continental... More

The Greenporter Hotel looks quirky but has been very thoughtfully modernized to a comfortable level. Pros: comfortable mattress, windows that open(rare), outlet above the desk for devices, a/c, good location, moderately priced. Cons: an older building that has been retrofit, no breakfast on week days out of season, very slow elevator, pillows too soft. Greenport itself was virtually "dead" during... More

This place looks like it received a makeover about 8 years ago and it needs another update. If it were not for the location this would be a crappy motel anywhere else. It stinks of mold and is just not that great. I would say Harbor Front is a better bet for sure.
