We were five adults and five kids between us, aged between 5 and 9. We had three nights at the lodge and felt very well looked after. The family lodge is not quite as appealing as the tents, and we were very helpfully given the option - one or two of us were happy to take the option to sleep...

We went as an extended family- grandparents and children with their toddlers. It was a welcomed break. The staff where phenomenal! We were greeted by smiles from the moment we all arrived and they would happily go out of their way for any request we asked of them. for example, the chef would specially do food for the toddlers an...

Stayed at spurwing for 2 nights on the way from Zambia to Harare. Fantastic people and hospitality. Great meals and teas. Although very hot ( which is expected at this time of the year) cool under the trees. Went on a game walk and game drive. During game drive we saw 45 elephants and a pride of 7 lion. The...

My partner and I visited Spurwing in December 2016. From the moment we arrived the staff were very welcoming and helpful, the resort itself is clean, well laid out and relaxed. I highly recommend this venue for anyone wishing to discover Zimbabwe, Africa and its wildlife.

If I didn't live on the other side of the World (in the UK) I'd visit more often, I've been here as a tourist four times over the years and every time it's always been marvellous. Well done to all the team at Spurwing. Fab food, lots of choice and great flavours.

Spurwing and the entire Kariba experience were a pleasant surprise. The lodge is very lovely, with a great location a design that lets it blend largely into the environment. The rooms are basically tented walls under a thatch-roofed structure, and were very comfortable. Ours needed a few little touch-ups when we arrived and the management was very quick to help...

We stayed for 4 nights and had an amazing time. I had been to lake Kariba before but stayed on a houseboat. I enjoyed some of it, but felt a little trapped on the boat. This time we came with our 2 young daughters (age 2 and 4) and had a blast. Driving up the resort on the boat was...

Our stay on Spurwing island was a great experience, the game drives are very different from the normal drives as the animals can be seen out in the open and actually in the lake. The boat trips are also very enjoyable. The staff are very friendly, the food very good and the management extremely helpful. The accommodation is in need...

We stayed 4 days in this little paradise. Amazing scene, great beddings & tents, food was lovely and the service was great. The shower was really good too. Lovely to relax by the pool, simply enjoying the view. Peaceful and quiet.

If you're thinking of making a trip to Lake Kariba and considering staying at Spurwing - DO !! We have just returned from a trip to Zimbabwe and were luckily enough to choose Spurwing as a starting point before boarding our houseboat. There were 24 of us from the UK, including 7 children, (youngest turned 5 whilst we there). One...
