I had the pleasure of staying at this camp in April, 2018. The wildlife viewing experiences were epic, and an order of magnitude above the other safari experiences I experienced in Zambia, Botswana, and Namibia during the same trip. The staff is attentive, enthusiastic, and...More
Beautiful and luxurious Lodge, great location with waterholes for the elephants right in front of your pool, big herds of animals in dry seasons, beautiful countryside after the rain, very friendly and knowledgable guides and hosts, good food, not to be missed!
The tents have multiple plug points for charging phones, cameras etc. However, I am not too sure about hairdryers. Somalisa is 100% solar powered so I am not too sure if the voltage is right for hairdryers.

Our morning game drives leave just after sunrise, usually at about 5:30 or 6am. You will be back in camp at about 11-11:30 for brunch. After that, you will have time to relax, perhaps take a little siesta before meeting for high tea at 3pm. You will leave on your afternoon drive after high-tea and be back in camp at about 6:30 or 7pm- just in time for cocktails and dinner!
However, we are African Bush Camps are very flexible and want our guests to enjoy their time so you are free to plan your own time and schedule with your guide.
I hope that helps!

Dear Amy. April is shoulder season, meaning that the landscape is beautiful and lush from the rains. However, the dryer season is upon us at this time so the concentration of animals gets better as wildlife congregate to permanent water sources, one being right in front of Somalisa Camp. There is always an abundance of elephant whatever the season at Somalisa, and you will not be disappointed with close encounters when elephant and other animals come to drink from the trough just meters away from the 'human' pool. Please see our Seasonal Calendars on our website for more information.
We hope you will join us in April.
Until then, take care and warmest regards
