With two notable exceptions, Davison’s was our disappointment out of four camps. (1). The Watering Hole. Davison’s has a well that feeds a large watering hole just behind the main building at camp where, each day, large herds of elephants come to drink. Sitting and watching from the deck puts you in close proximity to those herds. Davison’s also has...

Dear Rickdoestravel, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on your recent visit to Davison’s. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the waterhole in front of the camp, appreciated the great work done by a dedicated team on the ground who provide water for the wildlife and of course, the trip to the local village, where...

We stayed at Davison's for 3 nights in July. First, our guide Brian picked us up at Hwange Main Camp for the transfer to Davison's. The transfer turned out to be one spectacular game drive with scenes straight from the Lion King. It was my partner and her 6 year old son's first visit to Africa and needless to say...

Our group of 4 adults and 2 grandchildren were picked up at Hwange Park by Brian our guide. He asked if we wanted to get to camp quickly or did we want the scenic route? Of course, our first time in Africa and we couldn't wait to see the wild life. During our five hour drive, we saw everything; Impala,...

This camp was our first place we stayed to begin our safari. We were met by Themba (the best guide ever!) at the airport and as he drove us to Davison's Camp we saw so many animals, including lions. At Davison's Bee was there to greet us and introduce us to the rest of the staff. We were so well...

Dear Kathy, Thank you for your great review and for supporting our staff and community by purchasing their crafts in the gift shop, this goes a long way in helping many people within the local villages grow and develop through sustainability. I've never been to a safari camp before and staying here as my first gave me a good first impression of what it should be like. Everyday I looked forward to the food, the food here was beyond awesome! Everything was so nice here, the tents, the bathrooms, and the lounge areas. I especially like the location of the camp...

This camp is a great place for people who do not want to spend the nightly rates of Wilderness Safaris classic and premium camps yet receive the level of staff and experience they offer. Wilderness Safaris have by far the best private concession in Hwange and so you're virtually guaranteed great sightings without dozens of other safari trucks in shot. Set under a shady grove of ancient false mopane trees, Davison's Camp overlooks grassy plains and a shallow pan that entices a steady stream of plains game and elephant herds in their hundreds, especially in the water-scarce winter months. Named after Ted Davison, the first warden of the Park who devoted 30 years of his life to it, Davison's offers the quintessential Hwange experience combining excellent wildlife viewing with the opportunity to visit a local village and participate in community projects. • 9 tents (1 family) • game drives • nature walks • village visits • viewing platforms ... more   less
