This is as close as the rest of us will get to our own Downton Abbey experience. The estate is beautiful, and the views are spectacular. Your room makes you feel like a guest in a stately country home. Downstairs are the spectacular Edgar Steakhouse and Stonecutters Tavern. Be

Response from BelhurstCastle, Manager at Belhurst Castle
Responded 2 weeks ago
Hello, Thank you for your review. Our advertising on our website states, "Rates starting as low as $75! Book your stay with us today." That is our general wording that directs you to our booking engine on our website, as rooms that start at $75 are at our White Springs Manor Hotel. We are a unique resort in that we have three hotels - Belhurst Castle Chambers, the Vinifera Inn and White Springs Manor. White Springs Manor is located two miles west of Belhurst Castle which is explained in all of our advertising and marketing materials, as well as our website. We do not portray White Springs Manor as being on a lake and describe it on our website as, "The quiet back patio overlooks vineyards and a beautifully serene spring fed pond with a view of Seneca Lake in the distance. This hotel is located 2 miles West of the Belhurst Castle resort." All of that information and detail is portrayed on our website and other booking sites. Since we are a unique property, we do our absolute best to make sure our three hotels are very clearly outlined in each and every description, especially making sure that White Springs Manor always includes that it is two miles West of Belhurst Castle. We apologize that you feel it was poorly advertised, but this is something that we have tried to make as clear as possible to our guests and future customers! Thank you, Carly Morabito, Marketing Manager, Belhurst

Dinner at Edgar's was delicious but staying overnight in The Billiard Room was less than pleasant. There was an all pervasive odor of sewer gas, most noticeable in the closet, but throughout the room as well. We stuffed a towel under the door and kept the bathroom vent fan on

Our Belhurst Castle experience was wonderful! It is an authentic 19th century castle with an amazing view of Seneca Lake. It’s a one-stop destination—you don’t even have to leave the property during your getaway but there is also much to do in town and plenty of wineries and

Hi Janet, Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback regarding your recent stay at Belhurst. We do apologize that your accommodations were incorrect. That is completely our mistake and we're very sorry it happened. We did offer to find you accommodations at another area hotel and we did give you a different room at our sister property, White Springs Manor free of charge, but know this was a different room than you originally requested. We had planned to offer you a complimentary bottle of champagne at your dinner reservation in Edgar's Steakhouse for your anniversary, but found out you had cancelled your reservation, which we do understand why after what had happened. Thank you again for your feedback, which is greatly appreciated. Regards, Carly Morabito, Marketing Manager, Belhurst Castle

Air conditioning in the castle rooms?
Yes there are. But because the castle is historic they can't alter the structure so the AC is a window unit.

It is unfortunate that Quinn is still there and has not changed his demeanor. When I spoke with the General Manager she advised that she would be speaking with Quinn; however, it is apparent that he hasn't gotten any better. I feel sorry for the owners whom I have been told are wonderful and caring people. To the owners and general manager: It's obvious you need help turning this around. If you need help in employee morale and engagement let me know. It is what I do! You have a spectacular place, but without by in from your employees your business will continue to suffer.
