Have stayed here once or twice a year for more than a decade and am disappointed to say it has been fading in recent years. This time was the worst and will probably be my last visit. Tried a suite expecting newer, higher quality but found it was not immune to the downward spiral of this once comfortable, convenient and...

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience, though we of course are dismayed that the experience was a disappointing one. I have reviewed this with our room attendant staff, and am confidant that our new supervisor has the attention to detail that will eliminate the housekeeping deficiencies you speak of. Our door locks are, like many...

I have stayed at this hotel half a dozen times over the last 5 years or so. Quaint setting with craftsman style decor. The Inn seems to be on the decline. Maintenance is on the decline with obvious signs of neglect on room repairs and cleaning. While the room was acceptable and bed comfortable there were signs that the room...

I would like to first say thank you for your support over these last few years. Our apologies that your recent stay was less than satisfactory. We take your comments to heart and have used your critique as a learning tool during our recent staff trainings. We have new supervision on board that is anxious to eliminate the shortcomings that...

In the past this was a great and convenient location for anyone needing to stay in the Fayetteville-Manlius area. There are not many choices. I have stayed here numerous times in the past for funerals, reunions and visiting with friends. My final visit was this August. I checked out a day early it was so bad. The check-in area is...

Our apologies for the issues that you had during your stay here in August. I can tell you what I hope would be pleasant news for someone such as yourself who has stayed with us over the years, and who has seen some of the aging issues that have taken place. Our hallway carpets have seen better days and are...

We stayed here a few years ago in late summer. Everything about this charming hotel was lovely then. Stickley furniture, very comfortable beds, welcoming staff, and a very good, if a bit pricey, restaurant on premises. Fast forward to our recent return. Beds still good, but the overall upkeep was shabby. Housekeeping was poor, the place in general had a...

Spent a night here. Cozy place in a nice location. Quiet, comfy room had everything we needed and allowed our dog to join us too. Free coffee, tea and cookies in the lobby were great. Nothing to complain about. I would return.

We had visited the Craftsman Inn a year ago and enjoyed lunch at their restaurant next door. The hotel seemed clean and quaint at the time. I recently stayed there and immediately noticed that the grounds weren't really well manicured. There were cigarette butts all over the ground by the front door, leaves and branches weren't swept off the porches,...

I grew up in Fayetteville and have been happy to use the Craftsman Inn on my visits back home. I especially love the furniture that adorns the inn and the restaurant, and the staff has always been very friendly and accommodating. Lately however, the inn seems to have lost some of its luster. I don't know if that is because...

We stayed here one night while visiting Syracuse University and it was perfect. It's less than 15 minutes from the campus. We could have stayed at a Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn for the same price, but this place has so much more charm and character. We loved the Craftsman Inn. We live in an Arts & Crafts style bungalow...

Just got back from attending a conference. The hotel chosen for the weekend was the Craftsman Inn in Fayetteville. All the staff were attentive and friendly. They even allowed us to check in extremely early to accommodate the conference schedule. The rooms were spacious, nicely decorated, with no defects. Bed was very comfortable. We would certainly stay here if we...

Due to a death in the family, I found myself back at Craftsman Inn for three nights. The staff was attentive and accommodating. My room was clean and comfortable, and the folks at the front desk very gracious. While I don't anticipate being in that area again, one never knows. I would stay there again without question. The grill next...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The American Arts and Crafts Movement blossomed at the turn of the 20th century on the tree lined streets of peaceful villages in upstate New York. The movement was a personal and architectural revolt against the ornateness of the Victorian style. This Movement sparked a period of design characterized by simplicity, honestly and integrity. Here in Fayetteville, Leopold and John George Stickley created Arts and Crafts furniture using innovative construction techniques which have endured as hallmarks of the Movement. The Craftsman Inn is dedicated to these Craftsman ideals. Look around, the designs that inspire the building, the chairs and tables, the lighting and pictures, all evoke that ideal. Our Limestone Grille was launched in 2008 as the heir to our more stately Craftsman House. The Limestone reflects the 21st century evolution of these concepts as once again a desire for a simpler, truer, more authentic approach becomes prevalent. Our dining room and lounge reflect clean, Mission style design but with warm colors, classic furnishings, and contemporary appointments. Our service staff and bartenders provide friendly yet attentive service, knowledgeable without being presumptuous, helping to create the sense of relaxed comfort we all seem to miss so much of the time. That end result is what inspires us to do the best we can. ... more   less
