We spent 2 nights because we arrived without reservations and they had 2 rooms for only 2 nights available. (It was recommended to us by a family member) This is, as many of similar small hotels are, a family run hotel. We enjoyed the proximity to San Gim, quiet countryside, food and service. We found other nice accomodations for the...

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent four-day stay at LeRenaie. First of all, we can't say enough about the staff. The ladies at the reception desk were just a joy. They were always friendly and upbeat. They were always happy to answer questions and went out of their way to provide us with driving directions to Assissi. The hotel itself is...

Spent two nights here as part of a cycling holiday, to be honest was really looking forward to the food (as it had been built up by our travel company) but it was pretty average and on the first night despite long waits between courses, the next course arrived each time with all our previous course plates still on the...

We don't have anything to compare the Le Renaie to in the Tuscan countryside. We stayed in some very nice hotels in Santa Margherita Ligure and Florence, but this was a different experience. On one hand, it is very clean and does give you the sense that you are staying in a farm house in the country -- part of...

This was our first visit to Tuscany and we had a great time. The hotel was lovely and scored highly in all aspects. Small and fairly quiet there was a good mix of guests. Our room was good with a balcony. Breakfast was ok but would have preferred some real coffee and fruit juice (instead of out of a machine)....

We have just returned from spending 2 weeks in Italy incl 5 nights at Le Renaie. A great base for visiting Volterra, San Gimi, Sienna , the Chianti area and the shopping outlet near Florence called 'The Mall'... Le Renaie is a very relaxing place, in a quiet village. Food was good and the staff were very discreet. Nice pool...

Fantastic friendly place with an excellent restaurant in an even better location. For a sub-£1000 stay for 10 nights (even with the current Euro exchange rate) then you WILL NOT find better in this part of Tuscany. I have paid much more for a lot less in Italy. The rooms are reasonably large with a nice bathroom (large shower cubicle...

We went to San Gimignano with the high euro ringing in our ears. However this hotel provided a clean, large well appointed room and having booked half board, an outstanding restaurant. We loved the lamb and the beef, and despite mediocre weather, loved this hotel. We didn't book a balcony room which in better weather we may have regretted, but...

We two - both gay men - very much enjoyed our 5 day stay here last June. The hotel was impeccably clean, the garden was meticulously tended, and the breakfast offerings were generous and satisfying. We are always treated very well by the friendly staff. The clientele were mostly older than we (early 40s) were, but there were obviously those...

Have stayed at this place several times with groups. Every time, the staff bent over backwards to help us out and even treated our students extremely well (very unusual in Italian hotels!!) The owner, Leone or Leonetto, I think, is a real sweetheart; I had to take a student to the hospital once in the middle of dinner, and weren't...
