Stayed in this accommodation during our week-long work trip. It is located at the end of Canal Road. It is near Royal Mall and there are convenient stores nearby. Price is lower compared to the rest but the rooms are spacious and maintained. There is a provision of fast wifi.
Stayed here only for a night after staying at Subic bay Barretto side. Thank goodness it was only for a night. There's nothing to do around the hotel. No bars or clubs in sight! Everything was a far walk. There is no trikes or jeepneys around town. The Harbor Point mall is about a 15 minutes walk and the SM Olongapo mall is about a 30 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel does not have a shuttle, pool or gym. It has a dining place to eat. We only ate breakfast because it was free included in the room rate. It is plated that you have a choice but not buffet like some other places. When we checked in the hotel we had to pay an additional fee for the environment. Of all the hotels I've stayed, this is the only one I had to pay a fee. Also, you have the option to give 2,000 pesos or your ID for any incidentals. Now as far as the room goes, it is small. No closet just couple of hangers. Bathroom sink has no countertops. Shower floor is flat no tub. I guess they made it that way for wheelchair people. They should have a special room for disability guest. This will be my first and last time at this place!…
Rooms were clean and tidy. The shower area as well. The only downside was the air conditoner in our room was a little weak. Their staff are nice and helpful plus the price per night on average is unbeatable. Location is central and perfect if you are looking for accessibility to banks, malls, & night spots. Breakfast taste and choices was okay (plated, no buffet).
When you're in central Subic, whether for a quick business or personal visit, one good alternative for staying in would be Horizon Hotel near Manila Road or Main Gate. It's a relatively new hotel within easy walking distance from the main Ayala Harbor point mall. And if you're up for some dutyfree shopping, it's conveniently located beside a Royal Duty Free store. Additional pluses for me were two things I consider as a traveler- the extra comfy and neat king-size beds and fast reliable wifi internet connectivity. We stayed in a corner room just on the 2nd floor and our room had the router repeater inside. We recommend getting that room on your visit. Breakfast is a set meal from menu choices that include Filipino, American and even Korean selections. Don't expect much of it since it comes almost free at the room rate the hotel is charging. Spacious parking available for large groups. A bit of caution though - back up generator or power source suspect, at least while we were there. A thunderstorm coupled with a power blackout is not a good combination on your stay here. The long narrow hallways do not help. Don't get me started. Glad and thankful to the friendly and attentive staff who arranged for our group stay here.…
My wife, daughter, and I spent 6 nights at the Horizon Hotel. I had booked it because it provided by basic 2019 criteria for a hotel: a large bed, shower, tv, wi-fi, and free breakfast. Horizon provided all that at a low rate - but at minimal levels. While rated at 3 stars, I strain to give it 2. The 2 beds were large, but consisted of old style spring mattresses, which squealed whenever you moved. There was one small window in the room, above eye-level and looking out on an emergency exit stairwell. If you didn’t have claustrophobia before, you would after staying in the room. The room had NO LAMPS, only 3 hi-intensity lamps on the ceiling and 2 led light strips for night lights. Trying to lie in bed and read a newspaper was impossible because it meant staring at the blinding ceiling lights. The rate-included breakfast was at their in-house Korean/Filipino restaurant. The breakfast was a choice of Korean style, Filipino, American, or ramen noodles. I tried all 4 offerings and then avoided breakfast the last 2 days. My wife did find one mid-day meal which she ate almost every day, pork sinigang (sour soup). The Service was good, although at Check-in a lady wanted to keep my credit card or my passports during the duration of our stay. Dumb request! I gave her $40US to hold onto. I would not stay there again, nor recommend it to anyone except an enemy.…
Horizon Hotel is in an ideal location in Subic Bay 5 minutes walk to the mall and shopping, money changer, banks, restuarants, markets and amenities. 10 minute taxi ride to the beach in Bario Baretta, Olongapor City is a short jeepney ride or 20 minute walk. The staff at this hotel are polite and very helpful. They advised me on how much to pay for taxi rides and where to visit like Zoofari. They arranged my transfer from Manila Airport to Subic Bay a 3 hour drive from Manila Airport and my return to Manila. The room I had was big and perfectly clean, with table & 2 chairs, desk with snacks, fridge, mirror, air conditioning with noise reduction setting, big wide screen tv with lots of channels, bed side lights. My bed was a big double with 2 comfortable pillows. The bathroom was big with power shower, hot water, clean toilet & sink. 2 fresh towels everyday with 2 flannels and toothpaste and brush, shaving lotion & razors everyday compilementry from the hotel. I enjoyed my Korean breakfast with 2 servings each day but I also liked the American breakfast or cornbeef with rice or the milk fish. I had fresh ground coffee and pineapple juice. The hotel also does room service menu but I did not order room service. For me the Horizon Hotel is perfect for my visit to Subic Bay as the staff all speak English and Tagalou. The hotel is clean with friendly staff and in an ideal location in Subic. …
We got nervous as we approached the hotel as it looked like a motel with its lights. Interestingly, they do have some sort of drive-in (I think that's Economy). Luckily, the Standard Premium we booked was in the hotel. We got a nice, spacious, corner room on the 2nd floor. It had a king size bed with fresh white sheets. There are cosmetic issues especially with the wall paint, but what's more important to me is the cleanliness. There was no unpleasant smell, and no molds in the bathroom and shower curtain. We got a good night's sleep. We ordered room service for dinner, spicy beef soup. I was pleasantly surprised it was yukgaejang with rice and 3 side dishes. I love Korean food. Breakfast was included. I had Korean (rice, fried egg, bean soup, 4 side dishes), the husband had longsilog.…
the location is perfect with a 5min walking distance to ayala harbor point mall. the checknin was efficient and fast. rooms are very modern and has everything you need. staff are friendly and their restaurant offers authentic korean style food. value for money and great service all the way!
The worst 3 star hotel you could ever get! From my experience the staff is rude, they will rip you off any way they can. They false advertise. They say there's hot water, but there isn't. One little stain on there linen and they will charge you triple the price! Just overall I wouldn't even given a star. Please save your money and book somewhere else otherwise you will have the same experience as me! And also the acting manager can't settle the problem himself.clearly they dont know what customers service is.
Very accessible (Mall, Markets and Transportation). The staffs are friendly and they also serve foods 24/7 and most of all I love the cleanliness of the place. Definitely worth a penny two thumbs up for Horizon Hotel
