Travellers' Choice
Set in the heart of Shakespeare country only four miles from Stratford upon Avon the Blue Boar Inn represents the best of an old English country pub, the oldest parts of the building date back to the early 1600s. Stay in comfortable en suite bedrooms, some which still retain impressive original features, such as wooden beams and stone walls. Including a range of three, four and five bed family rooms. Food is available from lunchtimes 12.00 noon- 2,30pm and dinner 6.00pm- 9.00pm options include an à la carte restaurant menu and a homemade pub food menus complimented by a range of ales and wines.According to church records, William Shakespeare was married in Temple Grafton church in the year 1582 to one Ann Whateley. The name is thought to be a misspelling of Hathaway.Records show that there has been an alehouse at the inn since that time, also a glass-covered well in the restaurant bar is some 35 feet deep and its pure water was once used in the brewing process. today, the well is the home of a family of gold fish. From this comfortable and convenient relaxing base, you can explore Stratford Warwick, the Vale of Evesham, Cotswolds Slightly further afield, The Malvern Hills, and Birmingham and NEC is within about 30 minutes' drive by car. Here at the Blue Boar we are here to cater for your every need and can arrange hire cars, taxis and packed lunches to compliment your touring of our wonderful local attractions.

Absolutely love The Blue Boar Inn. We stayed last August and had such a great time I decided to spend my 60th birthday there with my family. A great time was had by all. The food is amazing, staff are really friendly and very obliging. Steven and Josh are great people, fun personalities…..loved the banter. The Inn is surrounded by countryside with amazing wildlife walks Only a few miles from Stratford, also a great place to go……HIGHLY recommend!

We visit the Blue Boar a couple of times a month for lunch. The range on the menu is really good. The Indian food is very authentic and consistently good. The service is prompt and friendly in a nice out of town location.

Stayed here after receiving a voucher as a gift Nice room over-looking a minor road, but not too noisy. Evening meal & breakfast was very nice. One little problem, my husband was offered a brandy on the house (as it was his birthday) only to be charged for it on the bill! On the whole, a very nice stay.

The staff at the pub were welcoming on arrival and throughout our stay . We ate our evening meal in the restaurant , which was very good , accompanied by a nice bottle of wine . We had breakfast the next morning which again was plentiful and tasty and served promptly ., although a menu might have been helpful . Our room and the public areas were clean and the shower in our room was powerful and hot . There were adaequate toiletries and tea making facilities The room was a bit tired and the cream basin and shower in the bathroom dated - I understand that there may be plans to upgrade the decor . However , having been told that the room we had been allocated (number 10 ) should be quiet , it was in reality , extremely noisy throughout the evening until after 10.30 .There were regular loud bangs , thumps and crashes , which presumably came from the kitchen or bar, together with some noises which seemed to be connected with use of some equipment or pipework .Things quietened down after closing time , with the exception of some noise from the pipes .
