Note this review is for off-season. Years ago I use to come to Chautauqua and always wanted to stay at the Athenaeum but with the cost of the room, grounds fees AND parking, it just wasn’t worth it for me. The Athenaeum was offering rooms at an off season rate for $122 (with abo

We held our wedding here and it was PERFECT. Carrie Gifford and her staff went above and beyond and made our weekend unforgettable. I could not give this beautiful classic hotel more recommendations. Unbelievable views of the lake from the covered porch (which was awesome duri

The hotel was built in the late 1800's - don't expect chrome, high tech glitz. It's a beautiful OLD hotel. The porch alone was worth the stay.

I stayed in a single room. It was a bit odd, as my bed seemed to be tilted. I'm assuming it was the floor. It was a hot, summer week. Th

So, help! Are there hairdryers and the usual toiletries in the room. I have visited he web site, as suggestion in response to someone's question, but cannot locate an answer on Services and Amenities. So, I must trouble you for an answer, so I know how to pack. Would that not be too much touble. To be without a hairdryer, shampoo, etc for a week is camping. I'm not coming for camping. But, I am sure you want happy "campers."
Yes, they do have hairdryers and the usual toiletries in the rooms. They have shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body wash, soap, razors, shaving cream, etc. If there is something specific you are looking for, please do not hesitate to call them!

how does valet parking work ?? where is it requested?
They have valet which I preferred or they have a shuttle to a parking area which is free I believe. Call the hotel for specifics.
