My safari holiday of a lifetime in Africa was based on seeing Victoria Falls and visiting the Okavango Delta, with Chobe fitting neatly in between. (Fortunately my wife agreed, being arguably more interested in the birds than the 'big five' etc.) Our two nights here,...More
Wow, the accommodation is fabulous. Nicest place that we stayed at during our stay in Botswana for accommodation. Meek was a great guide and went out of his way to show you the wildlife. While on our walking tour we had baby warthogs come almost...More

Very environmentally sensitive design to this really intimate camp, and well thought out and very spacious comfortable luxury tents. The only negative was the heat between 11.00 - 17.00 daily...More

Dear roadtrip c
Happy New Year and thank you for the wonderful review from your stay at Camp Okavango. There is no other better way to disconnect from the real world by heading out on Safari and really taking everything in. Thank you for choosing...More
Camp Okavango is a wonderful and amazing place. Unlike most other safari camps, it is water based. There are no driving safaris--in fact, we never entered a vehicle with wheels during our stay. Instead, there are canoe trips and boat trips, supplemented by walking safaris....More

Dear Tony The Train
Many thanks for your inquiry. Camp Okavango is located on a remote island surrounded by water 365 days of the year. Access to the camp is by light aircraft - the path from the airstrip to the camp is about 200 meters and rather sandy. Furthermore - activities revolve around boat excursions, Mokoro excursions and walking safaris - all of these involve getting into and out of boats and canoes - unfortunately not suited or easy for access by wheelchair.
I would not recommend this particular camp as suitable for a wheelchair user at all.
I would suggest that you possibly look at Camp Xakanaxa or Okuti as better suited for your needs?
I trust that this is of assistance and answers your query?

Many thanks for your enquiry. Camp Okavango is a water based camp. It is located on a remote island in the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta. The experience here is all about the water wilderness of the Okavango Delta and due to its location, only water based activities are offered. These are in the form of mokoro activities, boat excursions and guided walks on the surrounding islands. No game drives are offered by vehicle - therefore no night game drives are offered either. Camp Okavango does not have game drive vehicles.
I trust that this clarifies?
Warm wishes from Botswana
