Footsteps Across the Delta is a wonderfully intimate camp, just 3 guest tents, in the northern parts of the Okavango Delta. A former hunting camp, it is situated under a canopy of trees at the rim of marshland and ponds in a remote area of the delta. We chose it because of its good reputation for walking safaris and we... From arriving at Shinde airstrip until we left three days later, the whole experience was just incredible. We had come from a very luxurious camp, Tuningi, in Madikwe Game Reserve in South Africa so the contrast was amazing. To be out in the bush in a tented camp with no fences was something that I really wanted my grandsons to... More

The camp maybe listed as rustic but the comfort, service & food is incredible. This was our last camp in Botswana and the staff & surroundings helped end an amazing trip on an unforgettable high. The camp has its own lagoon, from our seats we saw various kingfishers, eagles, weaver birds along with hippos & otters. The game walks were... More

We had the whole camp to ourselves - five of us and 10 staff. A truly amazing magical experience - by jeep, on foot and by makauro - also a night drive. Amazing food. Two of us are vegan and the food was imaginative and tasty. Evening meal was three courses with a choice of wine. The camp is very... More

Our stay at Footsteps was an absolute highlight of our trip to Africa (we visited Sabi Sands in SA and two camps in Botswana, including Footsteps). We were spoiled by the level of hospitality and service and enjoyed some of the very best food on our trip. We were so impressed with the chefs creations, especially given that everything is... We have just returned from 4 weeks in Africa and stayed at the end for 3 nights at Footsteps. The situation is totally delightful - tents on the edge of a hippo pool with a beautiful water hole the other side. The guide, Mozeeh was exceptional and delivered on 95% of our requirements - not bad with no other guides... More

The walking safaris offered at footsteps were a highlight of our trip. Our guides, OP and NT were attentive, informative and skilled. Walking allowed us to appreciate many of the smaller features and aspects of the natural world that are overlooked when traveling by jeep. The food was amazing and all prepared over a wood fire. The bucket showers are... More

We had stayed at more "upscale" tented camps prior to our arrival at Footsteps so we were unsure what to expect. The tents are great, bucket showers whenever you want them and the food is terrific. Our guide, Mozeeh, was great - knowledgeable, fun, could take a joke, etc. The staff are all amazing there and we really enjoyed our... More

We stayed at Footsteps after staying at two other very nice safari camps. We really didn't miss having electricity and the food was fabulous, all cooked on a wood fire. Having the hippos in the neighboring pool pass through camp on their way to feed at night was amazing. Being able to see animals (lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, baboons and... More

Footsteps is a wonderful way to experience a safari. The camp is the only one in a private concession area so you see no other travellers and are not restricted to staying on the road as you are in the parks. The facilities are basic but excellent and the staff wonderful. We have two kids (11 and 13) who loved... More
