What can we say, beautiful surroundings, incredible staff, wonderful accommodation. Fishing waters pristine (Though there could be more fish, then again it could have been just that we weren't that "gifted"). Will recommend this venue to anyone. Thanks a stack.

What a wonderful find this gem is! It is the best place we have stayed in dullstroom! The staff are friendly and helpful, the cottage we stayed in is beautiful (fluff tail cottage) . The fishing is great and the reserve surrounding the resort is scenic and teeming with wildlife. There is a lot for kids as well as adults...

We have been to Stone Lodge at Elands Valley many times before and we are never disappointed. We spent the longweekend from 22 - 26 October 2015 at Stone Lodge with friends. Although we arrived late on Thursday evening we received a warm welcome as usual from the staff and they helped us unpack our cars and carried all our...

We stayed in the Strawberry Fields cottage and it was absolutely beautiful. The entire Elands Valley, is so well looked after and the staff are simply amazing. You are greeted with smiles from the moment you arrive to the time you leave. Not too mention the very yummy, hot, home made bread, first thing in the morning and the fires...

Beautiful place, but there were problems. The lack of internet and cell phone signal we could accept - this is supposed to be a country retreat, after all, but don't expect to be able to check your email. Also, the advertised DSTV actually is a limited bouquet, but once again, DSTV and internet is not why one would go to...

We stayed in Stone Lodge which is one of the properties available for rent at the Elands Valley Private Bird & Game Sanctuary. Staff are helpful and attentive. We were 8 adults staying. There are enough bedrooms, but think it gets a bit crowded with 8 people. Would not recommend more than 6 adults. Oven is small and is not...

We have just finished our second trip to elands valley staying in stone lodge and it is even better than we remember it. From the moment we got there we were warmly welcomed by Lizzy and her team who all came to the cars to help us unpack. All the fireplaces were prepared, the coal stove was hot and the...

The venue itself is a real treasure. We had loads of fun fishing, and the staff were very thoughtful and helping. I was a bit disappointed with the cottage (The Owl House) itself at first, as we had no idea the the whole cottage was it the attic of a garage. From the pictures it is really hard to see...

We stayed at Strawberry Fields but left a day early - we couldn't stand the excessive amount of flies and mosquitos anymore! We were not informed of the fowl-run and compost right behind our litlle house. If they resolve this problem you can have a great time, the setting is very tranquil and the stoep with the view is the...

Ou family stayed at Stone Lodge. Big house that sleeps 8. Dining room and kitchen tables to seat everyone. Lounge is comfortable by the fire place. Was a miserable, rainy weekend outside, but inside was warm, beautifully decorated, enough space in the kitchen, lviving areas were comfortable & bedrooms were clean and pretty. (Not the perfect unit with small kids...

“It's wise to have a 4 x 4 to get the the venue although we managed it reasonably comfortably in a Hyundai i10.”

“The venue does not allow check ins on Sunday, so the rooms are not serviced on Sunday and you can sleep in and leave when you want to. I took the opportunity of peaking into the other cottages before we left (as the other guests had gone already), and all cottages are truly amazing. You won't go wrong whichever one you choose”

“The rooms are different in size so it would depend on the number in the party. For couples Strawberry Fields is perfect but if you are going in a larger group there are rooms that can cater for up to 10.”
