The staff at the lodge made our stay memorable. What a happy, accommodating, lovely group of people who are employed there. A true delight. The lodges are quite large and lovely. They need better lighting inside though. The food was inconsistent. Breakfast was the best...More
A trip of a lifetime.
I cannot recommend Madikwe Safari Lodge enough.
This lodge would suit both couples and families.
Our room was great and had a plunge pool too.
The Ranger we had was MJ and he was very knowledgeable.

I had yet another lovely stay at Madikwe Safari Lodge. They really make you feel at home and the service is very personal and attentive. They come up with different things to do every day so no day feels like a repeat of the previous...More
A huge game reserve offering many opportunities to meet all the animals one would like and expect to see on a safari. The main camp is romantic and high quality as are the lodges. All the staff are experienced and very friendly. The food is...More

Speak to the booking agent as you may be able to put your third child on the bed settee in the lounge area of the family lodge. We stayed twice with pur two kids in the bunk beds and enquirer about taking mil for the next trip. It would have been possible but didn't happen due to travel issues for her. They were willing to work with us though to avoid splitting us up or having mil on her own. Certainly the family lodge is big enough it is just whether the final bed is sufficient forth ethics child, age and size wise. Wonderful lodge, wonderful people and amazing sightings, enjoy.

May is generally a cooler month with very few mosquitos, I would however suggest using an insect repellent in the evenings (this is also supplied by the Lodge). It would not be necessary during the day.
Fortunately there are no tsetse flies in Madikwe.
We looking forward to welcoming you to Madikwe Safari Lodge.

Hi there, I went to Madikwe last summer and also brought my camera (Canon EOS 1DX; full format). I was very happy with my Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L lens in terms of zoom factor and handling. Usually the rangers get you very closely to the game, so even the 70 - 300mm will do in my opinion (though you will have to crop your fotos in post-production).
Enjoy your trip - Madikwe is amazing.
