Stayed at Eagles Crag Lodge for 3 nights in January on our first ever trip to SA to celebrate my wife Lynne's 60th Birthday. This was the absolute highlight of the holiday! Accommodation and food were superb, all the staff very friendly and helpful and our Ranger Jan was fantastic! His enthusiasm for his job was contagious and his ability...

We stayed at Long Lee Manor for three nights in December. We chose Shamwari because it is in a malaria free area and we wanted to take our kids aged 12 and 17 on their first safari. We chose the garden suites which over-look a water hole which were of a very high standard and perfectly situated. At 5am one...

My very elderly mother and I have stayed at Long Lee a couple of times over the past few years, to celebrate her birthday. We shared a room the first time but the second time, we were given 2 rooms at no additional cost. Everything is as perfect as it could be. Brilliant food, friendly staff, great game drives. Will...

Just back from a four day stay at Shamwari on Riverdene Lodge. We saw all the animals and were very well looked after. The food and staff were great. The animals were magnificent. The reserve is big so patience is a necessity as you can drive for forty minutes and see lots of antelope and birds but nothing else. Suddenly...

This was the best experience of our life. We have travelled the World and been very fortunate to witness many things but this was so so special. The people, the landscape and of course the animals were breath taking and the accommodation first class. We were extremely fortunate to have had "Jaco" as our ranger, he is an absolute diamond...

Our previous safari experience some years previously (Londolozi in the Kruger) had left us convinced that Africa could not offer anything as good, but Shamwari was equally rewarding We stayed at Bayethe, technically in a tent, if you consider a permanent structure with a thatched roof, masses of space and all home comforts, which just happens to have canvas walls,...

We stayed at Shamwari for 3 nights in Long Lee Manor. The service from arrival was impeccable. The food was outstanding, particularly on Braai night. The room was enormous and furnished to a very high standard with a private balcony a welcome addition! The highlight was definitely the animals. This was my husbands first safari but since I am South African, I am not new to the experience and have been on several. I can say without a doubt, that our stay at Bayethe Lodge in the Shamwari reserve was hands down superior. I prefer not to stay in a 5-star luxury resort in the bush but prefer accommodations...
