Dear Tricia,
Thank you for your enquiry and interest shown in Shamwari Game Reserve.
As mentioned, Shamwari Game Reserve is a mere 45 minute drive from Port Elizabeth International airport. Cape Town is situated 9 hours from Shamwari Game Reserve. Many of our guests travel along the Garden Route from Cape Town to Shamwari Game Reserve as it's a beautiful scenic route with many wonderful places and attractions along the way, with George being one of the charming town's along the way.
Our reservations team can be contacted directly for any further queries on +27 (0) 42 203 1111.
I trust the above finds you well and we look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Hi Lily,
Thank you for your question and concern. We are fortunate enough to have the Bushman's river running through our reserve, so the animals still have a water supply. With sporadic rainfall, there is still food for the animals.
Our lodges are supplied by boreholes so showering and bathing is not a concern for our guests. However, we do ask that water is used sparingly as there is a severe drought in South Africa. In our area, we have also seen a substantial reduction in rainfall.
I trust the above finds you well.
Best Regards,
Claire Radloff
