We visited South Africa in November and were lucky enough to be able to spend 3 nights at Kambaku Safari Lodge. Although we did not personally book our lodging here (our entire trip was booked through an agent), we could not have been happier with the selection. The staff was terrific and made our trip much more enjoyable. We took...

This was our first safari ever, but we both really wanted to do it. So we booked through a German individual travel agency and they booked us into this gem in the Timbavati reserve. Kambaku has excellent customer service and is a nice and small lodge. You can unwind entirely and re-connect with nature. We had a nice little cottage,...

Thank you so much for the lovely review of your stay with us and for commenting on all the various aspects of the lodge. Our game viewing is generally very good - but you were lucky to see the wild dogs and pups - always too cute ! I am happy to see the attention to detail in the camp...

We throughly enjoyed our 4 day stay at kambaku. We saw all of big 5 and a lot of harder to find animals like leopards and wild dogs. Our ranger Nic was extremely knowledgeable and definitely enriched our experience. We got close to lots of different wildlife and it was amazing to see the animals in their natural habitat. We...

Thank you for the wonderful review of your time with us ! it is always good to hear that every aspect was up to standard and that you could also experience both a bush walk and the spa at River Sands. We would love to see you back one day !

Having done many salaries during the last 25 years, I arrived at Kambaku Lodge for a 5 day brake from Johannesburg. I was met by staff that did everything in their power to make me feel great and they succeeded without a doubt. The game viewing was very good and the Big 5 was seen at 3 days out of...

Hi there - hopefully that is 25 safaris over the years and not salaries :) ! So happy that the staff once again went out of their way to make you feel welcome. We will pass on your comments to all the staff and rangers. We hope that you think of us next time you need a relaxing holiday again...

We traveled around and changed accommodation every 2 days. At Kambuka I would have loved to stay 1 day longer. The combination between game drives and relaxing during midday suited us well and the staff was amazing. I will always remember Kambuka best when thinking about my SA vacation.

Thank you so much for the review on your stay with us. Changing accommodation every 2 days can be tiring so we often recommend a stay of 3 nights in order to be able to relax completely! Next time...

We spent 2 nights at Kambaku, and it was a magnificent experience. The accommodation is beautiful, the food excellent, the service attentive. But the highlight has to be the game drives, and special mention to our ranger Dee and tracker Herman. We have done self-drive in Kruger, and gone on the Kruger game drives, but this far exceeds those experiences....

Thank you for the lovely review on your stay with us - mentioning the smaller aspects on the game drives that make us completely different to a self drive safari experience in the Kruger. It is important to note that we can get up close and personal to the animals - which is not always possible in the Kruger Park....

We recently spent 3 nights at the Kambaku Safari Lodge as part of our first trip around South African. We chose it based on the reviews and we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. We flew in from Joburg which took just an hour and were met by a driver organised by the lodge, not cheap but easy...

Thank you fro the lengthy review on your stay at Safari Lodge, and in particular your comments on the ranger, some of the smaller details of the lodge, and some of the staff. It is always risky with a freelance ranger - but every now and then one is needed - and it is great to get such fantastic review...

We booked the Kambaku Safari Lodge on recommendation of a friend who stayed there last year. When we got there we weren't quite sure what to make of it. The place was in a middle of nowhere, looked quite desolate, most likely due to the prolonged drought in the area, and not like a 5* property we were led to...

Thank you for the extensive review on your stay with us. being entirely solar run - the camp relies on gas for the hot water and it can be a bit temperamental occasionally. We are happy though that the dietary requirements were attended to and that you had a special time for your son's birthday - we hope that he...
