Been to South Africa a few times and this was a first time a Thornybush. The staff is fabulous and the food was delicious. I felt well taken care of and spoiled. The chapungu camp was peaceful and had animals around and even walking through. The beds were comfortable and I loved the glass shower door to see directly outside!... More

I visited Chapungu in 2008. 8 years later I still remember it like I was there yesterday and still remains the best vacation I ever had! What made it even more perfect is that I did it with dad! Arrived via Joberg on a short flight on BA to Hoedspruit. The accommodation is perfect with air conditioned rooms and the... More

I was travelling with Zephyr Adventures, a group trip of 16. The moment we arrived, after a shaky plane ride, we were greeted by all of the friendly staff with homemade lemonade which was refreshing. Porters took our luggage to each room, and we were given a safety briefing/rules/schedule for the three days we were attending. We were then escorted... More

I loved this safari! There were 16 of us and we were the only group at this luxery tented camp. We had Ocean and Eric as our rangers and Aubrey and Victor as our trackers. These four guys were so professional and very good at their jobs. The staff was very nice and the tented camp was very comfortable and... More

The people and service at Chapungu were terrific! Would recommend them to all my family and friends. The accomodations were beautiful, the food was amazing, and the game drives were awesome! Our stay exceeded our expectations by a mile.

Our first safari stop was at the Chapungu camp in the Thornybush area. The camp was rugged and comfort at the same time. The staff was amazing and very friendly and helpful. The food was always amazing, from breakfast, to lunch to dinner. The common area was tranquil and comfortable. We hardly saw the other guests, even when we did,... More

We had a wonderful stay at this tented camp. The entire experience was great. We saw the big 5 and many other animals. Our tracker, Victor and our guide Henry were very knowledgable in identifying animals and their habits as well as local plants and history.

We stayed at Chapungu for three nights, going on five different safaris. We saw all of the big five within the first three safaris, along with giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, a porcupine, many different breeds of antelope. Our guide, Kilmon, and our tracker, Oscur, were amazing. The food at the camp was delicious and provided us with an introduction to a... More

Stayed for 6 nights and cannot fault Chapungi in any way. The staff are great and nothing is too much trouble for them - special mention to Kirsti who sorted out some travel issues we were having and Chris for looking after us so well. The room was excellent and the food was great. As for the game viewing -... More

We had 3glorious days at chapunga and loved every minute. The morning and night drives gave us the opportunity to see the big 5 and more than once plus many more animals and birds. The balance of activities meant there was time for socialising, eating delicious and plentiful food and rest. The staff seemed focused on making our stay the... More
