Compared to the Sabi Sands lodges this was lacking. Staff was very friendly but everything else was lacking that special touch. The guide was not trying hard and it felt like he was more interested in getting the best view for himself than making sure his passengers were getting the experience of a lifetime and what they paid for. For...

We visited the weekend and are local South Africans. Our guide never even tried to have a conversation with us or tried to tell us where we were rushing off too. We got the feeling that he was doing us a big favour and wasting his time as we are not overseas customers and most probably will not be getting...

I am very late in getting this review over, however I would be remiss if I didn't share what an amazing experience this was! The rooms were amazing, the food delicious, the service very personable and the ranger/tracker made this an experience of a lifetime. Highly recommend!

It was our first safari ever and we would return immediately. Dan and John were our super ranger/tracker duo, that made this trip unforgettable. Our waiter Peter was superfriendly as in general all the staff. Setting and rooms are really beautiful and clean. Very good food. Only one small remark on the rain poncho's that are not waterproof at all...

My husband & I spent 3 nights just before Christmas & were pleasantly surprised at the quiet setting of the lodge even though it was very busy. The trackers and guides were wonderful and the number and variety of animals was fabulous. We both really enjoyed the food and the surroundings.

Really nice looking lodge well located for safaris. Unfortunately the rooms had a musty smell which I think is caused by the straw in the roof. Also the shower is outside and if the weather is cold (which it was on our stay) this really isn't suitable. After 5 excellent weeks travelling through many African countries this place was a...

Very comfortable rooms in a peaceful setting. Food is delicious and the staff are friendly and attentive. You visit this place for game viewing and for us this was exceptional. What made our stay here so memorable was our ranger and guide, Henrico & Stanley, they were fantastic! Very knowledgable, great fun and gave us many amazing encounters with Lions,...

We stayed at Thornybush Waterside Lodge for four days in November 2016. The safari was amazing. We were so fortunate to see all of the big 5 and more within 48 hours of arriving. Our ranger, Chad, and tracker, Brian, were excellent. They were very knowledgeable and personable. They answered all of our questions and ensured that we had an...

We had the best experience at this Lodge. We had Liam and Anthony as our trackers/ranger and I can't even begin to explain how much they made our trip. They were incredibly knowledgeable and so passionate. This seriously made our trip. We saw the big 5 and so much more. The animals were the most important part of this trip...

Spent 3 nights here on our great African safari adventure. Rooms great and spacious, well serviced. Nothing too much for any of the staff who were all very attentive, warm and helpful. Chad, our ranger and Bryan the tracker, were always ensuring that we got the best safari experience even finding a leopard with her three, 5 month old cubs!...
