It is ridiculous how the first 70 game lodges in this list have similar glowing reviews! I stayed 2 nights at the Shumbalala lodge and 2 nights here. I gave excellent reviews to both! I am guessing that the whole touristic industry in the area have very high standards. The Thornybush lodge is bigger and cater to larger groups or...

We stayed at the Thornybush Game Lodge for 3 nights in the middle of October. From the moment we drove down the airstrip to the lodge gate and saw Lions resting on the side of the road, we hoped it would be as good as the drive in. We weren't disappointed. We were met at the entrance with a warming...

A gem of a place in the middle of nowhere! Friendly staff, beautiful and spotless rooms, guides and trackers (the same team with our same group for our 3 days) who go the extra to make your safaris memorable. This is a fabulous place! Lots of fresh food choices, beautiful dinner settings, and a fun gift shop! We saw elephants,...

Three nights of absolute luxury and the most amazing wildlife experiences. The drivers and trackers were so dedicated to offering the most out of the safari trips. We were very close to a wide variety of animals and the guides were very knowledgable. The accommodation is 5 star and the food and overall hospitality of the staff was wonderful.

- Jack (Guide) and ishmael (Tracker) provided great game drives 2x per day and were the same team on each drive during our stay. It was great to have that continuity and to have conversations over a few days so we get to know them a better than if there were different people on each drive. Came back to hot...

My stay at Thornybush was simply perfection. The staff really goes above and beyond to accommodate everyone's needs paying close attention to every detail. The food and drinks were delicious. The spa treatments were great as well. The morning and afternoon game drives were thrilling. I was incredibly lucky to have Christoff and Hendrick as ranger and tracker for 4...

This was our first game park experience - but not the last -on the African Continent. What an introduction! From the excellent game park drives to the more-than-competent guides and trackers, to the wonderful and comfortable accommodation and the magnificent food and service. It is hard to find superlatives to describe the thee day experience at Thornybush. We strongly recommend...

Even before our arrival things service had a personal touch! They guided me on which flight to take and how to organize the part of my trip that included Krueger. As for the rides, we got to see everything except a hippo. On our first drive we saw a Leopard with her kill. It was breath taking! Our guides John...

Even before arrival, everything at Thornybush was outstanding. They helped organize the small plane flight from Johannesburg. Upon arrival, helped explain all the safari options available, and shared with my wife and I the incredible meals we could expect during our 3 night-4 day stay. After a scrumptious lunch, we met our guide Jack, and our tracker Ishmael, and the...

This was the fourth time we stayed at the Nkelenga tented camp, a satellite camp of the main game lodge. A self catering camp, ideal for family or a group of friends. The camp is fully serviced, you have to do your own cooking. We stayed for 6 days this time. We had wonderful sightings od the big 5 and...
