We were lucky, we were the only guest during our stay in July 2013. The hostst and the rest of the staff was very friendly. We had a great time with our tracker & ranger. The rooms are very nice. In winter it can be very cold. They heat up the watertank when you are on your gamedrive, so you... More

We stayed at Pungwe for a total of five nights and loved it! The morning bush walks were excellent, as were the night drives, and we learned so much from our wonderful guides Isaac and Never (thank you for your patience, guys!). The food was superb; basic, local and delicious. The tent was brilliantly simple and extremely comfortable, and the... More

Pungwe bush camp is a great place to be to experience the African bush! Both game walks and game drives are offered and the well educated field guides are very friendly, helpfull and explained a lot about nature & wildlife. The small setting of the camp makes it extra cosy and special. We had a wonderful stay and hope to... More

Let me preface my 5 star with review with the following: If you are looking for a large, plush, luxury bush camp - this place is not for you. It is a tented camp (yes, the walls of your hut are actually tent material) and the camp does not have electricity, air conditioning, a swimming pool or wi-fi. But, why... More

We stayed at Pungwe for a week. This was about twice as long as most people. Never and Donald (the guides) were fantastic and extremely informative. I loved it when Donald offered to carry Peg's Nikon with the 500mm lens for her. We both loved the morning hikes. I have been on many, many great vacations in my 60 years,... More

We stayed in Pungwe for 2 days and 2 nights. Breathtaking experience. Loet and another guy took us two times on a trip with the 4x4 around sunset. Even saw a leopard "arguing" with an elephant, and later on, heard a leopard (and saw it footprints) around our tent. You really have the feeling that you are in the bush,... More

Cilla and Louis Schulz personally welcome and guide their guests at the Pungwe Bush Camp. There are only 4 guest rooms/tents. The ambience of no electricity, no e-mail, and no Internet works to get guests oriented to the bush country. The accommodations are actually plush (or plusher than expected), especially the bedroom and bathroom. Oil lamps give an old era... More

“Don't expect a luxury experience! The booking form said arrive at 12:00, but I got there well before that and had no problem going in early and driving to the camp - even without stops to watch the wildlide its a good 30 minute drive from the gate to the camp The gate to the reserve is adjacent to Kruger's Orpen gate - on the day I left I went into Kruger through Orpen and drove south through the park coming out at Paul Kruger gate, on my way back to Jo'burg - a long drive and a late arrival back at Jo'burg but made the most of my visit. Meals are taken around a single big round table all together with the owner which encourages conversation and sharing of experiences”
