When in Ruidoso this is one of our favorite places to stay! If you can get a room as it is always booked tight! Peaceful, clean, and the wood fireplace was the perfect touch. Just something about the whiff of wood smoke on a cold mountain morning while drinking a fresh cup of coffee that makes memories permanent! Highly recommended,...

The grounds were beautiful, the rooms were great- roomy with a nice bed, a fireplace, a stocked kitchenette, chairs on the porch to enjoy the weather. It's very close to restaurants and shops. We would stay there again!

This was our second time in Ruidoso and we chose Shadow Mountain Lodge after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. We stayed in room 101 and found it clean and cozy. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen area nice and a great fireplace. It has a romantic atmosphere. The only thing that was not up to expectations was the shower....

We just had our second stay at Shadow Mountain Lodge. We stayed in one of the cabins, with our two little Yorkies. The cabins are not huge, but are perfect for a couple. They are very nicely decorated with a fireplace, a tub big enough for two, and beautiful bedding. The wifi was fast and the TV has a nice...

Thank you for staying with us again. Repeat guests are the best endorsement of all and you nailed it with the great review. Besides the beautiful cabin and the forest setting we make certain that the modern amenities are not only available, but state of the art so that you can keep up with everything going on in the outside...

If you like old, gloomy and dark this is the place to stay. Our bedding was black in color the coverlet a very dark green that matched the old torn carpeting. The bathroom is very tiny just enough to turn around in. The vanity is old and very low. Lighting is not very good if you would like to read...

We are so sorry to receive a review like this. We cannot find you in our records so we have to assume that you did actually stay with us. Shadow Mountain Lodge has long been the number one lodge in Ruidoso for good reason. We keep our rooms and cabins immaculate and our grounds beautiful. Our gardens actually stop traffic...

We chose this because of high reviews on trip advisor. The place is ok with ok grounds and landscaping/ It seemed to both of us that the bedding wasn't changed. Seems to cater to a conservative Texas clientele. I don't think I would stay here again.

We got the message with your wife's one star review. Suspicious that you both felt the need to write in, yet never said a word to us when you were here. That's a first for us and our beautiful lodge. Clearly, Shadow Mountain Lodge, and indeed Ruidoso, are not for you. Normally, we would thank you for your feedback and...

This was our third stay at Shadow Mountain and we will certainly be back again. If you want a calm, peaceful and relaxing place to be, Shadow Mountain Lodge is the best. The rooms are perfect and the grounds are beautifully well kept. We had our little dog with us and she was perfectly at home. It has everything you...

We stayed in a room in the lodge that was everything we hoped for - very clean, working fireplace, kitchen, couch, outdoor chairs on a wide deck. The grounds were immaculate with birdfeeders and birdbaths. Best of all the lodge is off the main road (unlike many other cabins and hotels), shaded by big old trees, very quiet and relaxing....

Awesome! You captured what we offer beautifully. We are so happy that you found us amid all the offerings of box hotels and motels. Shadow Mountain is a treasure and we work very hard to keep it that way. Come again anytime and please tell others who will appreciate us as you do. Thank you!

We loved the accommodations. It would also be ideal if we had stayed longer. I like the kitchenette and the comfy couch. We had our dog with us and she loved it too!! It is very peaceful and pretty. Easy to get to as well.

Thank you for staying with us. It is always great when folks find us for the first time. As Ruidoso's number one rated lodge it is an honor to serve you.

We had an end unit. So it had a third window which allowed for good airflow. It was quiet with no street noise or sound from the next room. The room had a kitchenette -- what some places might call a "mini-suite." The bed was comfortable. I really liked the double recliner couch. It provided a comfortable place to read...
