As the original Singita lodge, Ebony stands steadfast amongst enormous trees on the banks of the Sand River in the heart of South Africa's 'big cat country.' The lodge takes safari design and style to a new level with a fresh and contemporary interpretation of the classic safari lodge, combining tented camp and bush lodge style. Guests are immersed in nature with huge open spaces and interiors inspired by a combination of local tribal culture and the animal kingdom.

We loved everything about Ebony. You are spoiled and catered to the entire time. The height of luxury in all respects. Great food, incredible rooms with swimming pools. First class service. And that's before even getting to the safari experience!

I can’t remember what exactly we did tip and the percentage to each person... However, the administrative staff at Singita were able to guide us as to what was appropriate and we gave everyone envelopes with cash. I hope that helps!

Hi There, Thank you for getting in touch. We hope you really enjoyed your stay with us at Boulders Lodge recently. The Ebony suites are slightly smaller than at Boulders Lodge, but around the same size and extremely comfortable. Suite 10 is river facing and close to the main lodge. Please let me know if there is anything else we can assist with. Thanks and have a lovely day further!

Singita does provide blankets in the jeep if you are cold during the morning and afternoon rides. They also provide fleece ponchos and rain ponchos in army green, so no need to pack those. There are hiking pants that roll up or ones that have zip-off bottoms (converting to shorts). You also may want clothing with permethrin embedded in it if you are worried about mosquitos. the staff there wears very neutral colors---sand, green, beige, gray---while out on safari.

I agree. The tiered jeeps and breeze from the open top would be more suited to pants than skirts. Maybe you can get some comfy wide-legged, loose pants that would work.
