Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I recently stayed at Cheetah Plains with friends in the Mapogo villa. Lorraine's Team was amazing and we all cannot stop talking about the incredible hospitality we received. They truly became friends to us during our stay. Every request is addressed immediately, and I do not think the experience could ever be topped. They constantly went above and beyond for us and it made for a difficult goodbye. Cheetah Plains is truly a luxury experience and I cannot wait to visit Lorraine's team again!

We have just returned from an 8 days stay at Cheetah Plains. From the moment we arrived it was as if we had been there before. Everything we could have wanted or needed was already done for us. The lodges are incredible. The game drives never disappoint. When we left it was like saying goodbye to your favourite family members. Needless to say we will definitely be back..

Just returned from a two-night stay at Cheetah Plains in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, and it was a phenomenal experience! It was my first time seeing a leopard in the wild, a moment that will stay with me forever. The highlight? Spotting the Big 5, all on our very first day! The expertise of our trackers, Civ and Edwell, truly stood out. Their knowledge of the wildlife and terrain made our game drives both educational and thrilling. They have a keen eye for details, making sure we didn't miss a thing. Clementine, our host, ensured our stay was comfortable and memorable. From our arrival to departure, every need was anticipated and met with a smile. And let's talk about the food! Zuko, our chef, was a culinary wizard. The meals were a delight, especially the desserts - so make sure to arrive with an appetite. I would joke about them feeding us to the animals if we get too fat, and honestly, I wouldn't have minded if the food kept coming! In summary, Cheetah Plains is a must-visit. Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned safari-goer, this place will leave you mesmerized. Can't wait to return!

Cheetah Plains is like no other experience I have had. The surroundings, architecture and design is exquisite and only outdone by the service! Your dedicated team make sure every need is addressed immediately. The spa treatments are a treat and the food is beyond restaurant quality - gourmet and modified to your needs and requests. Every day there is a special surprise. You are relaxed and pampered and of course the guides and tracers are incredibly knowledgeable and share the excitement and amazement of the animal experiences. Can’t really overstate this experience for our family!

Our family recently had the great pleasure of staying at Cheetah Plains and were booked into the Mapogo Villa. We have been fortunate to stay in a wide variety of five-star properties in Africa and beyond. Our experience at Cheetah Plains now sits at the very top of our list of favorite locations. Beyond the incredible beauty of the property and the stunning villa, we enjoyed our daily game drives and were able to see an incredible variety of wildlife. Our superb guide (and photographer), Andrew and tracker Vusi, went out of their way to ensure we were able to witness the full beauty of the reserve. Beyond our superb accommodations, what made our visit so special was the amazing team. Our incredible hostess, Sizile, went out of her way to anticipate every possible need and created wonderful surprise experiences--from the beautiful sundown cocktail event out on the plains to a memorable final dinner in our boma. Xolisa, our sommelier made sure to keep our glasses full of the best wines of South Africa. He generously shared his knowledge and expertise. Our butler, Keletso was always one step ahead of us and made certain no detail was missed. Gugu, our massage therapist, provided what all believe were the best treatments we’d ever experienced. Our chef, Terror, and his culinary team created exceptional and creative meals throughout our stay and made sure that we experienced the best of local cuisine and game. We simply can’t thank the entire staff adequately for their hospitality and, more importantly, their incredible kindness and dedication. We look forward to visiting Cheetah Plains in the future and would recommend this property unequivocally and with great enthusiasm. The Francis Family

We chose Cheetah Plains for our first safari in Sabi Sand and it did not disappoint. We were there at the end of April and stayed at the exquisite Mapogo House - it's one of 3 villas and has the best view. The resident hippos and baby croc (Suzie) outside Mapogo Villa kept us entertained throughout our stay. Everything we needed was well taken care of by the amazing Mapogo House team led by the most hospitable hostess, Clementine. The food was incredible to say the least. Chef Prince and Arita(?) ensured that each meal was curated to our liking and dietary restrictions (vegetarian). There were deserts after every meal and they were out of this world! Mboso kept us hydrated with the best selection of drinks to accompany our meals and delicious amarula coffee. SK took care of our safety and Forgive helped rejuvenate mind and body in our spa sessions. The whole team (including those whose names I may have forgotten) worked hard behind the scenes to surprise us everyday with something special - we cannot thank them enough for all of the memorable experiences and gifts. Super special thanks to Civ and Adwell who were the absolute best guide and tracker. Our sightings were incredible and so up close! Civ was an expert storyteller and Adwell made sure we saw the best of Sabi Sand. We had a star gazing session one night - it's amazing how much is visible to the naked eye when there is no light pollution. Both Civ and Adwell went above and beyond in making this the best safari experience. We saw 4 out of the big 5 - the rhino evaded us but that only means we have to come back soon!!

A South African Safari had been on our bucket list for as long as I can remember, we knew it was going to be a once in a lifetime experience. But, what we couldn’t have imagined is when we weren’t out looking at beautiful animals spending time at the most beautiful lodge with the warmest, kindest, hospitable group of people. Cheetah Plains didn’t miss a single detail when they built the lodge a few years ago, pure luxury in the middle of the bush. The food was amazing, the chef and his team were so accommodating and talented, spoiled us at every meal. Sipps and Nsako our guide and spotter were so knowledgeable, knew every animal/bird/insect/plant and went above and beyond to make sure we were able to check every box at the end of our trip. Lorraine and her team became family in a short time, saying goodbye was so hard.
