What is Certificate of Excellence?
TripAdvisor gives a Certificate of Excellence to accommodations, attractions and restaurants that consistently earn great reviews from travellers.
Set the bar for hospitality. Amazing food, wonderful accommodations, and – oh yeah – world-class game-drives through the bush veld to see elephants, giraffe, hippos, rhinos, lions, leopards, et al. We were paired with a ranger and a tracker who were experts in both finding...More
My partner and I stayed at Founders Camp. The camps and a yoga deck are strung out along a footpath. Our chalet was the one closest to the main Founders lodge, which serves as a meeting point and houses the dining area. The upside was...More

I stayed with my family for five nights, we were ten people, both young and old. When we arrived at the private air strip in the middle of the savanna the whole l’indolore team awaited us, the welcome was fantastic! The rooms are big and...More

I didn’t take any malaria meds and I had no issues. That being said, our guide said that the mosquitoes had been bad lately. As long as you always use repellent you should be fine. We had some very cold rainy days

Be prepared for the morning game drives - they start at 5:30 and I agree with all other posts - it's chilly (but they provide the coziest blankets and hot water bottles)! Bring cap, scarf, gloves, warm coat you can layer underneath. Afternoon game drives are at 3:30 and although you'll go out in long sleeves and pants, once the sun sets you'll start layering back on (the sundowner G&Ts will help warm you up). The middays are glorious - I wore my bathing suit every afternoon after lunch. This was the most amazing time to go - zero mosquitos, beautiful days and wonderful cool nights. I can't say enough about this magical place and just describing it is making me tear up...

Hi TWilliams
It does depend on which airline you are travelling with. If you are flying via Federal Air straight onto our airstrip, the strict 20kg, soft bag, all-inclusive weight allowance applies. If you are flying into Skukuza Airport and getting a transfer to the lodge then you are allowed to bring in slightly more luggage in a harder suitcase, with wheels. Your booking agent or our reservation office will be able to advise exactly which airline you are flying with if you are unsure. I hope that this helps.
Warm regards,
Amanda
