Spent two nights at this 8000 foot plus altitude for the autumn experience. Scenic excursion options were many and the accommodations were more than adequate. Being next door to Calamity Jane's for breakfast and dinner was a great bonus. Slept well considering the altitude and the bug zapper wasn't a problem.

The owners of this lodge obviously take great pride in their place and it shows, from spotless property to prompt attention to a small room problem. The accompanying restaurant, Calamity Jane 's, is basic and tasty, not 5 star fare, but with the nicest, most fun staff I've experienced of late. It's refreshing going to a small place without chain-motel... More

My husband and I stayed in a queen cabin (duplex like building) at the Laguna Vista Lodge while on a long trip home from Idaho to DFW, Texas. We had wanted to stay in Taos but all of the rooms were booked and we ended up in Eagle Nest for the night. Our cabin had a large room with a... More

Eagles nest is a small town. Hotel is almost more like a motel. Charming room and decor. Plenty large. Basics-no a/c in summer-it would be ok except the big windows face the hall where the lights are on all night. Also the bug zapper is working all night outside the door. A floor fan was all there was to move... More

We have been coming to Eagle Nest for over 35 years, The restaurant has always been a local last choice if you don't have the frig stocked or it's too late to go somewhere else. Still the same IMO. Had green chile cheeseburgers - over cooked with ff and onion rings that had the hades fried out of them. At... More

Our room was huge! We had plenty of seating in comfy armchairs, places to set down our belongings, great counter space around the sink with ample lighting and a big mirror. The bathtub-shower and the shower curtain were super clean. All the plumbing worked well, even the tub drain, a typical hotel fail point. The king bed had a nice... More

We stayed in a deluxe queen cabin, immaculate, quiet, comfortable, beautiful view out our front windows of flowers and mountains. The best was the magazines: True West, which we read from cover to cover. very restful spot with excellent dinner. unfortunately, no breakfast is offered anywhere in town, so we moved on to Red River early the next morning. A locally owned small motel with up to date features. Wifi and fancy television reception. In the lobby are many DVDs which can be watched in the rooms as well. Spacious and very clean. We stayed here for one night while on a 2-week motorcycle trip from Minneapolis. We stayed in remodeled deluxe king cabin #20 (king bed) for $85. It was beautiful!
