Corkin's Lodge is at the end of the road in Brazos, NM and at the foot of the Brazos Cliffs. There is a lodge, but they also have individual cabins of different sizes. And we loved our cabin! Log of course, covered porch, beautiful main room with fireplace, couch, rocking chair, and kitchen and table, big comfortble bedroom, and big,...

The fishing at Corkins Lodge was excellent! The cabin was rustic but comfortable and the beds were great. It was quiet and the neighbors were friendly. Philo, the manager, took care of everything we needed. The views and area are well worth the trip alone and the fishing was over the top! We stayed three nights and I wish we...

We were in the area after a fishing trip the third week in July 2016 and Corkins Lodge was recommended by our guides as a place we may want to stay the next time we visited. We decided to check it out. When we arrived construction was being done on the cabin beside the office. We were told a movie...

Spent 2 nights here wished we stayed at least 2 more. My husband and I love cabins and this was one of the nicest we every stayed in. Could not believe how quiet and peaceful and how dark. It was off season and only a few people were there I am sure it gets very busy in the summer. The...

This place was the absolute best ever. Great little cabin with a full kitchen, full bathroom, living room with fireplace (which we used). Grounds were gorgeous. There was a game room where we played ping pong. There was also a place to play horseshoes, bocce ball, swings, a pool (closed for the winter).

We've been going to Corkin's for several years and have stayed in several different cabins. We've used the Log House for Staff Retreats and the other cabins for personal use. They are always nice and well-maintained. The manager, Philo, is always friendly and glad to see you. Corkin's is a great spot to rest and relax.

We rented the Log Cabin with a group of 11, including 6 kids for 4 nights. We had visited this resort 7-8 years ago and wanted to return for the wildlife and nature. The cabin is roomy and beautifully designed, but had a bad problem with mice. We complained, and they left 2 mouse traps on our picnic table. We...

We usually stay in one of the inexpensive cabins but due to scheduling problems splurged for a newer one. With grand babies needing constant supervision and a place for naps, this three bedroom was awesome. The design was perfect. I watched the full moon rise from my bed every night. The kitchen was lovely. We come here every year and...

We've been coming to Corkins for years during most summers. It's such a great place with something for everyone. The cabins are cozy and the quiet atmosphere is very peaceful. I've seen others post complaints about a dog on the property that scares the wildlife away. While it's true that they do have a dog, we still say plenty of...

Been going there for 9 years and always stay at the Ponderosa. We actually have a ranch with about 1/2 the size of land but love the high elevation and getting away from cattle. I am not sure about the old owners comings and goings but with the new ones you can't rent while he and his group are visiting....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Wherever your travels take you in the American Southwest consider Corkins Lodge for a private wilderness retreat. We offer everything from fishing and hiking to eco-tourist adventures and artist getaways. Or just simply relaxing. You can swim in the sparkling fresh waters of the Brazos River or enjoy the luxury of the heated pool; hike the forested trails or cook, commune, and slumber in your rustic cabin. The experience is yours to make as a family, couple, group or journeying on your own. Corkins Lodge is located at the base of the 2,500-foot Brazos Cliffs in the scenic Chama Valley of Northern New Mexico. It includes 1,600 acres of private land - reserved exclusively for Corkins’ guests - and more than 2.5 miles of the Brazos River where it pours forth from the Brazos Canyon. This spectacular natural setting rivals the best of America’s National Parks, but without the crowds. Open year-round, we’re a treasure trove for the off-season traveler. The Fall forests are a dazzling landscape of color, offering a serene yet vibrant atmosphere ideal for contemplation. The Winter - perhaps the most spectacular season of all - finds the cliffs more majestic, the experience more private, and your lodging ever more cozy. Take advantage of snowshoeing or skiing to get you into the muted forest or along the frozen river’s edge, then return to a sauna or a warm fire. In the Spring a waterfall appears at the cliff top, the river roars past fed by the huge melt of snow collected in the canyon, wildflowers carpet the forest floor, and elk pass through on their way back up to higher ground. We have a 70-year history of providing memory-making and even life-changing experiences. Best of all we're affordable. Some of our guests stay for months; many families have been returning for generations. Corkins offers a unique getaway from crowded National Parks, a busy schedule, tense cities or even just day-to-day life. Have a look around the website and see if it's for you. Then contact Philo if you'd like to arrange a stay. ... more   less

“If your one to freak if you found a mouse in your room then this isn't for you. If you looking to get away and just play in nature this is the place. Not a big hunter, don't allow hunters on my ranch but found the hunters renting the lodge all to be nice and the outfitters very quiet.”
