As promised by my friends, a 'temple town'. And Raya Grand is right opposite the very celebrated Mahamaham tank. Comfortable, well-appointed and clean rooms and efficient service. The hotel has a restau with a vegetarian and local fare - very adequate indeed. AirCon and ceiling fans fare creditably against the hot day. Pillows thicker than I like, bed/mattress quite adequate.... More

This is a bigger hotel than I thought. Staff ok. Room is quite new, clean, Hot Shower & everything working. Only complaints would be the people who come for a function & take all the car parks. Plus the function room was a floor below ours & with the Thai speaker volume we could feel the floor shake & our... More

There is something charismatic about visiting a new unexplored town or city and checking into the Grand as you know it's going to be a sanctuary when it all goes wrong. Luckily it didn't all go wrong but the Grand really wasn't ... Sad really because I'm sure there was a day when it was but that must have been... More

This hotel direction is not too difficult to find from main road but you would be recommended to be here with car or other vehicles. It is a little bit far from main street, there is not many places around which you can go there by walking. There are couple restaurants which not too far from the hotel, seafood restaurant... More

We stayed in this hotel by accident (due to a few language difficulties and a haphazard tuk tuk driver!) After reinacting the spanish hotel scene from 'only fools and horses' with a bit of thai we checked in fine. We were the only non Europeans which was brilliant. Rooms are amazingly cheap roughly £14 for a double room and breakfast.... More

I stayed here for one month. The hotel served as my base, while I traveled in the region. The staff was absolutely great. I enjoyed the morning breakfast and the breakfast staff. I don't have a single bad thing to say about this hotel. I'm a bit tall so the shower head was hitting me about middle back but I... More

Raya Grand is a nice, comfortable hotel. The reception started by saying I may not get my wi-fi because my room is too far from the router...it was about 14 metres from the router...then they blamed my computer...and in the end it was decided the router needs to be replaced as even the manager, standing right in front of it... The hotel is not in the city's center but not too far. Recommended if you have a car. It is a standard hotel of the bygone days, big concrete chunk, with a karaoke cafe. The room is quite spacious with basic amenity. Interestingly there are many electrical outlets in the room which you cannot find in newer hotels. Old aluminum-clad... More

The hotel is not very well located but is still easly accesssible by car (the hotel provides good directions when asked by e-mail). Reception staff speaks good english and is very helpful - next to the hotel several good restaurants are available as well as an australian run bar (the Walrus) with good atmosphere. A good place to stop over... More

“Get a room by the first floor router if you value your wi-fi...if not, it doesn't matter. They are nice, clean, comfortable rooms. The area is not so noisy but I had a room at the back and had fun watching kids playing football ( soccer ) in a vacant parking lot.”
