My wife and i stayed at Mango's Dive Resort for 14 nights in a Beach Suite overlooking the bay and had a wonderful experience. The room was great with a king bed, living room with a comfy couch, 2 big flat screen tv's, a terrace right on the beach where we enjoyed our morning cof

I thought I'd try somewhere new in Subic and also try another dive operator. Despite the other reviews that give this resort such a glowing review I think they are not our experience.

The first thing I noticed about the Mangos Resort is that priority is given to smokers. There

Hi Tony: Thank you for your blunt and honest review. The room you initially stayed in was Room 5, which is by far the least expensive room in the hotel due to the fact that it is in a high traffic area. I usually tell people that if they're light sleepers then that's not a good option, but it's great for folks on a budget and heavy sleepers. You were also informed of this in your email to us by our Reception, but you chose to take it anyway. You then told our Receptionist that you didn't like the room even before you slept there, so you were offered a beachfront room with a discount, and we didn't charge you anything for Room 5, just so you could be happier. As far as Jetskis, etc, I don't know what to say. You had a beachfront room in a resort area. There's watersports during the day, and none of these operate after dusk. We neither own nor control any Jetski daytime operations., and, to be honest no one has ever complained about them, or the bar next door. Everybody seems to enjoy renting them or just watching people have fun on the Bay. Speaking of the bar next door, I assume you mean Palm Tree. It's not one of the busier places in town, and it's not a nightclub type of place, just diners enjoying the sunset on the balcony. We have never received a complaint about them either, because they're simply not a loud venue. As far as the dogs go, they live a ways down the beach. It's the Philippines, and it's part of the landscape, for better or worse. I don't recall anyone ever complaining that they were so loud they woke guests either, and I've been here over two years, so you've got me stumped there, mate. Our staff are indeed the best in town, in my humble opinion. We try to keep the standards as high as possible and it shows, including our Receptionist going so far as to call the folks at the next hotel you were staying at and asking specifically for a very quiet room for you. I hope that worked out well for you! As far as the smoking goes, we've gone from a smoking allowed anywhere place to limiting it more and more. It's a progressive thing that we're just going to have to keep at, because on a beach bar with swirling air currents and a nice breeze, it's almost impossible to control where it goes. It is a fairly compact area, all in all, but we'll keep on trying to limit it as much as possible to please our non-smoking guests. It will certainly get better over time. Thanks again for taking the time to give both praise and constructive criticism. I sincerely hope that you enjoy the rest of your holiday in Subic Bay! Cheers! Chris and the Crew.

I dealt with instructors Craig and Ken who were experts and still approachable and accessible.

Whether you're there to dive or not, Mango's is the beach paradise straight out of a movie. The staff is an outstanding source of guidance for navigating the overwhelming options avail

Thanks JK. We have a great dive shop staff, and for that we're very grateful. If anyone wants to dive with them, check out Mango's Dive Center at the link below. Thanks for taking the time to write us a review, and we hope to see you back soon! Wonderful place with many activities at the resort to keep your holiday enjoyable. The staff treated you with the utmost respect. The restaurant is open 24/7 with a wide variety of delicious options. My only problem was with the lack of items provided by the hotel like soap. Only

Thanks for taking the time to write us a review, Rich, and for the four-bubble rating. It is very much appreciated. Our staff is our strength, for sure. Many apply but few are chosen, and the ones that last are the ones that understand service with a smile. I'm curious about the soap, and what else may have been wrong. We recently got our own hotel-branded soap, shower gel and amenities kits made for the convenience of our guests. Anything that's empty and used up the housekeeping staff is supposed to replace, so if you were inconvenienced in any way, I'd like to nip the problem in the bud. Tripadvisor doesn't allow Managers to post contact info for some strange reason, but see if this works: chris@mangossubic.com I'd like to discuss what you believe was lacking and where we can improve for your comfort and for the "Extra star"! :D Cheers Chris and the Crew

Great to see you back, Billy! Every year a higher percentage of our guests are RETURN guests, so hopefully that indicates that we're doing it right. Thanks for taking the time buddy. Always welcome here at Mangos! Chris and the Crew

Hi how to reach Clark airport from your resort? Will there be taxis avaialble or can car / van be booked through uour resort for airport drop ? What would be the cost for the same. Finally if I leave early morning say by 7 am how much time will it take to reach Clark airport?
Hello Ashish: You can book a van through us at the Front Desk, and that will take you right to Clark for 3200 Pesos. Up to 7 persons incl. If you're on a budget, and that's cool, then there is a Victory Liner Bus that goes from Olongapo to Clark Airport. Search Victory Liner Clark Airport. Hope this helps! Chris, GM, Mangos

Can we have dinner here at chill at the club even when not checked in, maybe swim too?
We have a 24 hour restaurant beside the beach that's open for walk-ins anytime. :D We also have a small "nightclub" but that's not open until 6 PM. It's mostly billiards and mixed rock. Thanks!

any photo of room for 2?
I don't have recent pics since the renovations because the room's occupied. I'll post some up on the website and Tripadvisor when I get some new ones done. Thx.

Considering this resort has lots of foreign customers and has a bar, does it still have a child-friendly environment? do you also have local tourists?
The Beach Bar is a restaurant, and people of all ages enjoy it. We have great fruit smoothies, and even Rootbeer and Creamsicle floats for the kids! We're getting more and more local tourism also, and, of course, all our waitresses and bartenders speak Tagalog. Come on down!

are pets allowed? i have one small dog. a shih tzu
Hello: We used to allow small dogs, but have been advised by the local City Health that we're not supposed to have dogs in the room due to the possibility of ticks, fleas etc left on bedding or in rugs or sofas. We argued the point, but got nowhere, sorry. Chris
