In the Malay language, Seri means “sparkling, shining light”, an appropriate title for The Seri Villas, a contemporary Balinese villa inspired enclave of nine, two and three bedroom, beautifully appointed luxury serviced villas. One bedroom villas are offered on request depending on availability. Combining the tranquility of a private sanctuary with modern amenities for the perfect holiday hideaway. The Seri Villas is a large, peaceful villa located in the center of the fashionable Petitenget Oberoi area on Bali’s south-western coast. With only footsteps away from the central of Seminyak it is just a short stroll to some of Bali’s finest bars and restaurants including La Lucciola and Metis, sophisticated restaurants /lounges Ku De Ta, Hu’u, Potato Head Beach Club and Finns Beach Club, certainly the coolest scene on the island, The Seri Villas leaves guests spoilt for choice.

Our third annual trip to Bali, and we're enjoying it more with the hospitality we get from Seri Villas. Thumbs up for their free shuttle service around the nearby Seminyak areas.
Villa is modern styled, cosy and nice but just short in some basic house-keeping amenities like rubbish containers, dust-pans, clothes hangers, even soap dishes at appropriate places. And functional utility just need to be fine-tuned to make Seri Villas really tops; like correction to the unpredictable hot/cold water showers' temperature and slimy/slippery floors in the shower room. All these little things mean a lot to travellers, and hopefully the manager will address it for the comfort and safety of his guests inside the villa.
But all in all, we were happy, and we partied one evening at the villa, enjoying ourselves tremendously.

We had villa number 9 which has 3 seperate double bedrooms. All the rooms very spacious and clean. All the staff very very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was cooked in out dining area each day and was very good. The villas are well located just a 10 minute walk from many bars and restaurants and the beach. would highly recommend.

I stayed at Seri Villas for 3 nights with 3 of my girlfriends over NYE 2013. We found the Villas over booking.com and booked a two bedroom villa at a very good price. We were all looking forward to staying there especially after looking at the photos on their website. Well I have to say that we were a bit disappointed when we arrived. First of all, it was not as clean as we expected. The size of the bedrooms and living area was nice but the bathrooms were the real disappointment. Our shower did not work properly and that's why it was constantly flooded. Even though the swimming pool looked nice, we didn't take a swim once because it also looked dirty. There was constant noise coming from a building site right next to the villa. The best thing was the breakfast they prepared for us in the villa every morning. Finally, to comment on the location, well the villas are situated in a very small street which is not easy to find. We didn't feel very comfortable walking all the way from the main Seminyak road at night. It is really not far from the main road where all the beach clubs are, during the day it is only 10 minutes walk to the beach, however, at night we preferred to take a taxi back. Unfortunately, knowing now all other beautiful hotels and villas in Seminyak area, I have to say that I would not choose to stay there again.

Thank you for writing a review. I'm an owner of the property and I take your feedback very seriously. We are currently renovating all the rooms with a focus on overhauling the bathrooms so if you do return I'm sure taking a shower or lounging in that large bath will be much more inviting. The swimming pools are regularly checked and are always clean, we use green tiles to give a natural feel and subtle look to the villas perhaps the aesthetic didn't appeal. I'm sorry about the building work next door, I'm sure the very good price you received factored that in a little. The work is being finished now so should not be a problem going forward. We love our location, yes it is down one of the small roads to criss cross the whole of Bali but as a result we don't get any of the noisy through traffic. Not many villas can say they are only a very short walk from Potato Head, Hu'u and the nearby restaurants. I'm sorry that you did not feel comfortable to walk down the road at night, Seminyak is a safe place most of the time, but as always please use discretion. I attach a thread concerning safety. http://answers.worldnomads.com/questions/indonesia/9043/is-it-safe-to-go-out-in-bali-at-night-around-seminyak I do hope we see you again. This review will be removed just as soon as I post it. It was what happened with my previous honest review which can no longer be found. It appears only good reviews remain on the website and bad reviews are removed. This is very unfortunate as the real state of the villas are not made known and the real reviews that don't meet with management's approval never see the light of day. My husband and I BOOKED 23 DAYS IN ADVANCE for a long 6 nights stay in a pool villa in February 2015. We arrived and checked in on a Sunday, into Villa no. 3. Upon checking in to our villa, we noticed the POOL WAS MURKY GREEN and in no time the ONGOING CONSTRUCTION NOISE BECAME APPARENT. We took issue with the pool as after we informed the staff and management that the pool was dirty, they acknowledged and even declared to us that the pool was already treated in the morning but something was wrong since the pool WATER DID NOT CLEAR UP AND REMAINED MURKY AND THE POOL WATER SMELLY. Extremely disappointed, we requested for another villa and was told they only had one other vacant villa next door with NO HOT WATER. We feel that the management did us a HUGE INJUSTICE accepting our booking and GIVING US A POOL VILLA WHEN THE POOL COULD NOT BE USED. When we explained that a private pool was an important feature of our stay, or we would have booked a hotel room otherwise, the pool not being serviceable and unusable is not something a guests must be made to accept or pay. The management refused any refund of our deposit for the fact that The Seri Villas Seminyak was unable to deliver a villa in full working condition. NO compensation was offered. No response to our emails and deliberate acts of removing our review from TripAdvisor to hide the true dysfunctional state the villas are in is a gross injustice.

Dear Eliza F Thank you for taking the time to write a review We are a small and honest boutique hotel. It is not clear from your review if the previous review you had posted (and had subsequently vanished) was about our hotel or another? I can assure you we have no control over the reviews that are posted in Trip Advisor. I’ve checked Trip Advisor’s website regarding their policy. Its possible that the review did not meet their guidelines - please see attached. That could go some way to explain why your only other review could have been deleted by Trip Advisor. https://www.tripadvisorsupport.com/hc/en-us/articles/200614797 Beautiful Bali is located in the Tropics, we are blessed with lush and verdant surroundings that are sustained by rainfall, luckily our rains are short and sharp but they can react with the chemicals in swimming pools so that the water appears slightly cloudy - the tiles in the pool are a dark green to blend in with our surrounding. Our normal operating procedures call for the pools to be treated regularly without disrupting the privacy and wellbeing of our guests. The pool was completely safe for use - within health and safety standards which we check often. We wish we could have offered you an alternate villa but we could not as the only vacant villa was in the process of being renovated as we constantly look to improve our services and facilities. I’m afraid we can’t offer you compensation if you feel the pool is a bit cloudy when its perfectly ok by all measurable standards. We have double and triple checked - we have no record of receiving any e-mails from you regarding your unhappiness - please can you resend - we will reply - I can assure you. We urge you to contact Trip Advisor directly regarding the review that has been removed. When you find out the reason please email us so we can re post. I will contact on your behalf too. Sincerely Basri

I thought I'd surprise my wife by taking her to Bali before she's gives birth. I had flight centre recommended the seri villas so i thought i would give it a go and honestly got sucked in by the pictures. On arrival I was shocked because the pictures don't look nothing like they do in person this Vila was disgusting and needed a serious renovation! We had to change rooms cause our air con wasn't working the toilets were always clogged and needed serious plumbing done, the staff were shady as hell especially the manager HASAN! What ever you do don't give your mobile to him cause he will flood your WhatsApp with messages every day trying to get you to go with his shifty shuttle service Which I highly recommend not too I made the mistake and highly regret it we where promised a brand new 2016 vehicle only to get a non blue bird taxi which honestly looked like it was falling apart our driver also was hopeless and really rude had no sense of direction and didn't understand a word of English. The next day we thought we just go with our original driver who we go with every year and as soon as he arrived to get us while waiting the staff and manager where eyeing him off and questioning him a lot and made our poor driver feel very uncomfortable. And also the free shuttle around Seminyak is a joke I wanted to get a hair cut At the barbers which was located in Seminyak our shuttle bus driver when he dropped us off wanted us to pay him 50,000 rupiah cause apparently the barber wasn't in Seminyak which it was! we even showed him the location on our phone which he was denying we didn't end up giving him cash and boy he was angry. Only positive thing I say about the villa was the pool it was quite big other then that this is the crappiest unprofessional villa I have ever stayed at.

Dear Sir/Madam, We do apologize that you were unhappy and uncomfortable during your stay at the seri villas. Problem of air condition can happen unexpectedly and unpredictable that's why we moved you to another bedroom next to it. You are right that our villa needs renovation, but we are sorry that our villa is not as bad as you said. you can read our client's review not many mentioned something bad about our property. We never whatsapp our guest, except our guest whatsapp me to ask some information or requesting something they need. We never requested our clients mobile phone no unless our guests need our assistance. regarding to the extra charge 50.000 Rupiah requested by our driver that is true if our driver drop you out of seminyak area. Our staff sometimes ask freelance drivers invited or used by our guests.....this is very to important to us if something happen with our guests we can be easy to contact or search them. Thank you. Regards Hassan Manager Thank you.

My partner surprised me with a 5 day weekend at the Seri Villa's for my 30th birthday.

We arrived at the Villas quite late after a late flight and went straight to sleep. Upon waking I was very upset to see that two windows were looking down into our open air bathroom, my partner spoke to reception and was shown the windows. The windows are in the villa spa and never used although I did still feel uncomfortable using the bathroom knowing that someone could be looking out! We did ask to change to another villa but they were completely booked out for the remainder of our stay.

The villa's themselves are quite run down and look nothing like the photographs on their website, they are certainly not 5 star accomodation. The villa's are also in a very poor location, most taxi drivers were unable to find the villas.

The air conditioning unit in our bedroom stopped working which made the bedroom very uncomfortable, we had to ask twice for the air conditioning to be fixed. In the heat and humidity of Bali surely this would be a priority to keep guests as comfortable as possible?

On the morning of Sunday 6th of January (my birthday) we woke up and had breakfast in the room and were planning to go to to see Tanah Lot before the rest of our birthday plans. My partner decided to have a swim in the pool, I went to the bathroom, walked out, sat by the pool and we heard a large crashing sound, more crashing sounds followed and parts of the ceiling fell through the open section of the bathroom. We went into a panic and ran into the bathroom to see the ENTIRE CEILING HAD COLLAPSED! The first crashing noise was around 20 - 30 seconds after I had left the bathroom, I am just thankful I decided not to immediately have a shower!

My partner and I were obviously shaken and I immediately called reception, the work men arrived within minutes and started surveying the bathroom. After 5 minutes I called reception again and asked if anyone was going to come down to see if we were okay. The female working on reception came down and I could not believe how rude she was, a quick sorry and then tried to bundle us into another villa that another couple had just checked out of (we had been told previously that the villas were booked out for the remainder of our stay). We were obviously quite upset as it was my birthday, our plans were ruined and we were both a little shaken up. My partner tried to explain this to the reception staff member who then proceeded to tell him that this was not the case, she informed him that my birthday is in May not on the 6th of January.

After this we were both so angry, the celing has collapsed, we have been offered a very weak apology and now I'm being told that today is not my birthday. I asked to speak to the Manager and was told the Manager does not work on Sundays but we would be able to speak to the Manager on the telephone. The Manager was apologetic for the ceiling and the rudeness of her staff and much more polite than the reception staff but still did not offer us anything apart from a change of villa.

After speaking to the Manager my partner and I decided to leave, we looked at the other villa but really just wanted to find somewhere else to stay. The reception staff member came back and was much easier to deal with (I'm assuming that she was spoken to by the Manager), she apologied for stating that my birthday was in May (apparently she looked at the wrong passport) and tried her best to get us to stay. She even offered my a surprise birthday party (extrememly laughable, not much of a surprise if she was telling me about it).

For your own safety do not stay here, the security is very minimal and after the ceiling drama I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. We could have been seriously hurt and the staff did not care at all.

We were refunded for the two nights that we did not stay in the villa, the refund took some time to reach us (around ten days).

Thank you for taking the time to write a review I am sorry that you did not have as good a time as you expected. We love our indoor and outdoor bathrooms, many guests love the open air feel, it's something thats hard to replicate at home. The windows in the spa will be changed so that it's impossible for someone to look into the bathroom at your villa. We are currently renovating all the rooms, we have a procedure to do this at regular intervals and will investigate if this needs to become more frequent. The villas are located down one of the many small roads that criss cross Bali, we carefully selected our land so that we would be away from the hustle and bustle and noise that main roads attract. I am extremely sorry for the lack of empathy our front desk staff showed you, I will be conducting an interview this week and will follow up. There is no excuse for the way we made you feel. I am surprised that you were not offered some in house massages in apology. I am pleased though that we acted quickly and refunded the unused days. I just wish your stay was so much better. We are working on your complaints and will be trying to eliminate the root couses so that do not happen again. m

We stayed at this villa for 5 nights and it was horrible, I don't know where to begin with. The first night we stayed in the 5th villa which where the aircon doesn't work at all(in all of the rooms)!! it does turn on but it won't turn to cold. The pool is very dirty there are a lot of branches, leaf and dirt inside the pool tiles, and don't get me started with the bathroom its the WORST. The bathroom is spacious although there are no shower glass door so the floor will get slippery after taking a shower and I feel like the pebbles making it way more worst. The cleanliness level of the villa is very bad, the floor is very dusty so I prefer to use the hotel sandals at all time and even the bed sheets doesn't feel like comfortable.

Despite all of that, the breakfast is well served they will ask you what time you prefer to get breakfast and there are various choices of foods (Breads, Eggs, Juices, Fruits)

btw after I packed all of my stuff during my last day I found out there are a dead worms stuck in between the glasses of the bathroom.

Stay away from this hotel, they are crooks, made the best of a bad situation and didn't refund my money after my flight was canceled cause of the volcanic ash,I tried to rebook on the dates that my work would let me have off,but I was told all the dates where booked, all I was told that I can get a voucher valid for 6months,and I advised them that I could not get time off work other than the dates my work has allocated, they did not care, they then offered me only half of my money back,I have now lost a $1000,they have made $$$$ out of a bad situation and left me short changed, thanks SERI VILLAS I will never come here again or fly to Bali, mind you the villa that was supposedly to be mine for the week was then occupied the next day,so they doubled there money off that room,I bet they wish volcanic interruptions happen every week, now let's see if there manager Hassan replies to this review or that they will delete it..such a shame

Dear bobboo124 Thank you for taking the time to reply. I’m sorry that an act of nature outside all of our control disrupted your travel plans to beautiful Bali. Our cancellation/refund policy is in line with major hotel groups and is published on our website. We are sorry that offering to defer the booking for six months (at no cost to you) was not suitable. Instead we asked for and received special dispensation from the villa owners to offer you a partial refund that is over and above our cancellation/refund policy. Regarding the occupancy of the villa the next day, as with all well run boutique hotels, once we receive a cancellation the villa is automatically made re-available for booking. In this instance the villa was not rebooked the next day. Losing your booking and offering a 50% refund was not good for us either. Again, we are sorry that circumstances outside of both of our control prevented you from coming to beautiful Bali. With regards to deleting reviews - its impossible - otherwise Tripadvisor would not maintain its integrity. Regards Basri Manager

There are 9 villas altogether in Seri Villas - two 3-bedroom ones and seven 2-bedroom ones. I stayed in a two bedroom villa and it was not as expected. The villa is spacious and the pool is a decent size. There is a generous dining and living room area situated across from the bedrooms and separated by the pool. There is also a deck area with two deck chairs and an umbrella. Despite much effort, the place is poorly kept and you can tell that it used to be a beautiful villa but it is looking tired now and in dire need of a facelift.

The bathrooms though spacious, does not have a shower enclosure so when you shower, the whole bathroom gets wet and becomes slippery! One rainy night, a centipede crawled out from amongst the black pebbles that are on the floor of the shower!

The rooms are spacious but the decor is tired. When we stayed there, some of the bulbs were not replaced and we had to ask for them. Two of the lights in the villa near the bedroom and water feature could not be lit as the wires were cut!

Compared to other villas that I have stayed, the breakfast is decent but not spectacular. There is no walkway connecting the living and dining room to the bedrooms so when it rains (which happens frequently in December), you will get wet unless you have an umbrella. If you run, you might slip as the timber deck floor will get wet.

The villa is also located off the Main Street so getting to the villa is either a 12-minute walk along narrow lanes or on scooter! The villa charges 70,000 rupiahs per day for rental of scooters. They also have limited umbrellas so when it rains, go grab one quickly or just purchase one for yourself off the streets. For the price that you pay, there are better villas available for the same price.

We had spent 2 nights here and in the first morning, our villa ran out of water. We had to get someone to fix it. Last night. Same thing happened and we insisted on shifting to a new villa as we did not want the same thing to happen this morning. They agreed to shift us but we had to wait while they ran around cleaning and checking the new villa. When they took us to the new villa, they put us in the smaller room, as the master bedroom shower was also not working. When we expressed our disappointment, the manager was very rude to us and told us that we should be happy that they had at least tried to fix the problems. There was no apology for the disruption and inconvenience caused to us and the manager raised his voice to us. Never never come back here again. The villas are not being maintained properly and will soon be I'm even worse conditions I'm sure.

Hi Rosy You would need to be more specific about where the game is. Seri Villas has a free shuttle that will take you to the local shopping 'centre' and other places close by. You can pay to be driven further, rates are about the same as a taxi. I did not use public transport while I was there. Tricia
