We had 3 lovely nights with Jo-Anne and Johan (and adorable little dog, Rafiki) between Christmas and New Year. The location was very convenient to visiting the winelands and False Bay Area of Cape Town. The room was more like a small apartment - with small kitchenette (with dishwasher and full fridge) in the spacious living/dining area, plus a separate...

Dear ExpatTravelholic I just love your screen name because it sums you up so perfectly! You have seen the world and lived in several countries and yet you review us so highly. It is much appreciated. Do bring the girls next time but Liquorice will have to do with a high paw from fellow Miniature Schnauzer Rafiki, CEO (canine executive...

From the décor to the linen to the breakfasts - divine luxury. The hosts Johan and Jo-Anne made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Quiet and spacious. Although I was away on business, Blaauwheim made me feel relaxed and at home. I will definitely go back

An excellent couple offering excellent accommodation. Their rooms even outweigh the best of the five star hotels that we been to in the past. The moment you walk in you are greeted by their warm smiles and staying there is like being home away from home. They really go out of their way to make sure that you have a...

My heart almost skipped a beat when I saw the Blaauwheim signboard and realized where my husband was taking me for my birthday surprise. We were greeted by a "new" Schnauzer by the name of Rafiki and learnt that Kali was no longer there .... This handsome young fellow has taken over as mascot and took to us immediately. We...

Dear PdV777 We've had several guests who came to Blaauwheim to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries lately and if we can be part of making it memorable we do so gladly. We love our Rafiki and I like the way you call him our mascot! Thanks too for noticing (and reporting) changes, mentioning the breakfast and all the lovely compliments. Season's...

..Johan and Jo-anne made us feel welcome immediately. Our suite had all the amenities of home. We enjoyed having breakfast on the patio looking onto the garden with squirrels, birds and a happy dog playing with his ball. A wonderful way to start your day with Johan's beautifully presented fruit plate, freshly baked croissants, and eggs of choice. We had...

The accommodation was equivalent to a 7 star hotel. Breakfast was prepared by the owner, himself and it was a work of art. Excellent hosts. Beautifully appointed suite. Highly recommended. Our hosts were very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and they had every conceivable niknak one could need to make the stay pleasurable.

Dear Misseyles Thank you for this review and all the compliments but seven stars would be a bit preposterous! We'd like to think of our service as such and indeed our local knowledge that only comes with being born and bred proud South Africans. We often shake our heads in disbelief when told what tourists are made to believe by...

Our luxurious suite had everything weary travelers (ourselves) could need. The bar fridge was stocked. Tea,coffee and chocolate drinks were all available. Fresh milk was in the fridge. We had immaculate kitchen facilities. The most comfortable of king size beds was made with gorgeous white linen. All this and then more, but most of all, our hosts were considerate, attentive...
