The Hout Bay Hideaway was the last stop on a whistlestop 12 day tour of South Africa, and the perfect way to end our trip. It is ideally located around 15 minutes drive from central Cape Town, and makes the rest of the beautiful Cape Peninsula extremely accessible. Our room was clean and spacious, with everything we needed for a...

We stayed at the Hout Bay Hideaway, in the ground floor Garden Rooms, for two nights in January 2016. The first thing to be said is that the great reviews you read on TripAdvisor are accurate - its a fabulous guesthouse, set in a lovely position up the hill in Hout Bay, surrounded by lovely gardens. The rooms we stayed...

Stayed here with Martin and Sue for three days, alongside two friends. They set us up in the downstairs room; two in the main bedroom and one in the outside twin bed. All in all, a very comfortable stay with extremely hospitable hosts! The property has a rustic charm; cozy and warm rather than opulent - which is personally just...

All has been said about the Hout Bay Hideaway - this little guesthouse up the hill in Hout Bay is indeed a treasure, made special by Sue and Martin and their hospitality. The location (close to the Cape Peninsula, Constantia and Cape Town), the stylish rooms, the relaxed breakfasts on your own terrace, the wonderful garden - it's the combination...

A real gem. We have been to Hout Bay lots of times and this was our first time at the hideaway. We wished we had known about this place before. Sue and Martin were such great hosts and a beautiful breakfast was brought to our terrace each morning. Stunning views to the sea and mountains. We will be back.

Well as I mentioned last time we visited, we don't really want others to know about this place, we'd rather keep it to ourselves!! But being unselfish we decided to share! So enjoy the spectacular views, great breakfast, warm little pool for a dip and spotlessly clean rooms too. Don't tell everyone will you?!!

Hout Bay Hideaway was the perfect base for us to start our South African honeymoon from - very friendly and helpful hosts; delicious breakfasts whilst enjoying stunning views from the balcony; and a quieter location to enjoy Cape Town from whilst still having great restaurants just walking distance away.

Still thinking about this wonderful place and its kind, considerate owners 8 months after we stayed there. I was with my husband and it was romantic, comfortable, safe and the breakfast was incredible. The garden is very special. The restaurant recommendations perfect.
