We would recommend this guesthouse for its tranquil setting overlooking the valley. However, as it is done on a bed and breakfast basis only, you are left to your own devices in the evening with only the security guard patrolling the grounds. The staff are welcoming and a complementary glass of wine is offered on arrival. After that an honesty...

Dear Brian Thank you for your kind review it is much appreciated. We do not offer any dinner or lunch as there are so many wonderful restaurants in our Village, which makes for a great experience. In our reception is a book with menus from most of the restaurants for your perusal. I Shèna as the manageress of Chanteclair also...

We spent two night at L'Auberge Chanteclair during our stay in the winelands. We had been in hotels up to this point in our trip and staying in a B&B was a nice change. We had a very comfortable room in the main house. We were both a bit will during our stay and were thankful for the comfortable room...

This is as close to paradise that I think I'll ever get.We stayed in the studio cottage. Vast. Comfortable. Views beyond my ability to describe. Superb. Breakfasts were varied and well cooked but have I mentioned the views? A kilometre out of town and off the main road so ectremely quiet. But the views............wonderful.

Our arrival was not very welcoming. Apparently the most important piece of information that needed to be conveyed to us was that the receptionist(?) was off duty at 7pm and that if we needed anything before then we should ring a bell that was hanging on a tree somewhere. A dinner reservation was promptly made for us, however we weren't...

Came more than highly recommended by our specialist travel agents, Audley Travel, and wow I can see why. There were four of us, we had a room in the house with tremendous views - a little haven nestling in the valley with a backdrop of the Franschhoek mountains - and everything you could ask for- no detail missed. Our friends...

The guest house is located little bit outside the main street of Franchoek. But that gives it the touch of nature and excellent view. The house only has several rooms and try to get the one with big terrace overlooking the mountains and vineyards. It's absolutely stunning. The room was great and had a cozy look. The only problem was...

The location is excellent about a 5 minute drive from Franschoek or a 15-20 minute walk, the house is set in lovely gardens, well tended with a good size pool and plenty of sun beds for everyone. On arrival we were met by Sheena the house manager who was very charming, friendly and helpful with suggestions regarding vineyards and restaurants....

We arrived on a very cool and wet day in October and no one was around. So we rang a bell in the driveway - this is the way all guests are expected to gain the attention of the staff. So, there is no traditional reception with a friendly face to go and see, but instead a bell you ring...
