No atmosphere in the restaurant. Dark bedroom with inadequate lighting. Bathroom needs upgrading. Staff need training in customer service. Good location and wonderful grounds that surround the hotel. Used the hotel bus service into Franschhoek but on our return waited 30 minutes

We enjoyed a great break at Ke Fransschhoek on our recent SA tour. The hotel provides a wonderful location just outside of the town and close to a range of wineries. The cottage style rooms were well furnished and had a relaxed atmosphere. Bed was great and a/c was very

I suspect we had the same 2-bedroom villa (No. 69) as the review from 2nd Feb. as some of the problems were the same. The toilet is still broken and the cistern refills every 25 seconds for a couple of seconds ending with a loud whistling noise. It can be turned off with the tap

Recently stayed at Le Franschhoek for a two night stopover on a six venue tour of South Africa. The hotel is set in stunning countryside in an area that we quickly came to love (now wish we’d allocated at least four nights to Franschhoek and not two). The hotel itself is lovely

Hot and cold dishes available at breakfast: fruits, cold meat, cheese, cereal, yogurts - as well as such expected hot foods as eggs, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, sausages (western expectations). Plenty of bread varieties and fresh pastries. Fruit juices, tea, coffee. Lunch menu a little disappointing: mostly sandwiches, burgers, salads. A good time to go and eat in the village of Franschhoek. Dinner (at Dish Restaurant) is well served and of high class. Meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. Nothing particularly exciting, but all extremely well cooked, flavoured and presented. Such ingredients as Cape salmon, calamari, chicken, duck, lamb (which I found vey good), steaks; pasta, vegetables. Various desserts. A good wine list (of South African wines) with a wide range of wines by the glass.
