We stayed 2 nights at Fransvliet and they did not disappoint. Victor and his team ensured that our stay was most enjoyable. The room was renovated, large and beautifully furnished and equipped. No expense has been spared. The bathroom is large with bath and show and double vanity. The location is right near the top wine farms and a variety...

We stayed in one of the self-catering apartments for 2 nights. Very pleasant and enjoyable stay. The location is not in town but provides easy access to Franshoek and Stellenbosch. We will plan to come again.

My girlfriend and I visited for two nights and with the amount of accommodation on offer in Franschhoek we feel we made a great choice as it was so quiet and relaxed in Fransvliet. The rooms are spacious with a well sized bathroom and dressing area. The rooms had lovely garden terraces which was a great place to enjoy the...

What a gem of a Guest House.we spend a fantastic three days with our children and the stay exceeded our expectations. The team were all outstanding. The breakfasts are memorable and they must have the best fruit salad in the world. The guest house is Connie at to the valley and the rooms are of a high standard. Highly recommended.

It was pleasure to have your whole family with us. The secret of the fruit salad is simple -local , ripe, seasonal fruit. We are very fortunate to have a lot of this around us. Thank you for all your comments and we hope to welcome you back to Fransvliet in the future.

We cannot recommend this place enough !! We returned this time for our third stay at Fransvliet. We've tried multiple hotel and guest house options in Franschhoek but return to Fransvliet as the place that offers the best quality, intimacy and attention to detail- and importantly a staff headed up by owner Shirley and guest house manager Victor, that just...

Great breakfast, great rooms, friendly hosts, and a perfect home base to explore the area or simply stay on the property and enjoy the property. We stayed for three nights and could have easily done one or two additional nights time permitting.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Fransvliet Guest House is a tranquil, luxury retreat, only 4 kilometres from the heart of Franschhoek. It is situated on a working farm, growing grapes, olives and figs. Wake up to the call of the birds and in the evening perhaps hear the resident owls calling as they contemplate the night's hunt. Breathtaking mountain views are all around, each one more spectacular than the last. The individually decorated suites are pure luxury, with absolute attention to detail. Soft wineland colours set the tone for a perfect stay. Breakfast is an occasion, every day. Spend time in the newly renovated 65 year old house, either inside or on the veranda, enjoying the view of the pool and the vineyards. Celebrate "the best meal of the day" with either a Continental or a full breakfast that will include seasonal specials. The sparkling pool is at your disposal for those hot lazy afternoons. Relax in the shade with a magazine and an ice cold drink, before you cool off. Lazy winter days are a treat too. Snuggle up in your suite in a comfy armchair with your own personal fireplace - the perfect way to enjoy one of the local bottles of red wine. Meander through the garden, (both indigenous and other) on your way to your suite. Something special will be flowering at all times. In season, luscious figs will be found on the trees, and the scent of lemons may be in the air too. Take an early morning walk around the farm in December. The vines will be green and laden with fruit. In July, a few burgundy coloured leaves and bare sticks have their own attraction. Soak up the 360° view, especially the powerful Simonsberg mountains. ... more   less
