We attended a wedding in Franschhoek, and just wanted a place to stay over for the night as we never wanted to drive back to cape Town, so we booked La Provence Vinyard Cottage and for the price we definitely thought it was something where we would not want to spend much time other than sleep. Once we arrived, the... More

We spend one night at La Provence while visiting Franschhoek with our kids. The accommodation is old-ish, but fits in nicely with the feel of the wine farm. Our room had a small kitchenette and enough space for 5 people and an awesome view over the vineyards. Very good service. A nice budget friendly place to stay to explore the... More

For the first time in my life my wife and I slept in a wine tank. Rather on the small side, but for a sleepover after 70th birthday adequate. The problem is however we never made it to the party as the wine supplied through the shower was very intoxicating! Owners very friendly and helpful!. For a once in a... More

All you can ask for and more. A walk through the wine farm's traditional wine making facilities is a must. Meet the local ostriches! If you are keen on a run, every Saturday there is the local Parkrun through the vineyard.

I spent the Bastille weekend at La Provence and it was the attention and great service that the family provided that gave them a Very Good. The family went out of their way to run a shuttle for us so that we didn't have to worry about driving to the festivities or back after festivities while a little intoxicated. The... More

Carin and Johan were absolutely amazing hosts for our weekend away from Cape Town. it was so nice to take some time and unwind. We were able to taste wine, pet some Ostriches, watch the sun set over the valley and play with the dogs (and that was just at their place). They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the... These cottages are just delightful to stay in. Each provides its own charm and distinct level of privacy. When there, ensure you reserve a table for dinner in the restaurant. The food is excellent, the service first class and the atmosphere peaceful. What a magical combination in the one vineyard. Its location allows easy access to the many delights of... More

You will not find a more tranquil setting and you will not find more hospitable hosts than John and Carin. Our family of three stayed for a week and thanks to Carin's encyclopaedic knowledge of the surroundings we were able to see and do so much more than expected. We were very sad to leave! The wood burning fires in... More

I stayed here for several nights while in town for a wedding. The estates were beautiful, Johan and Carin was kind and accommodating (even helped us plan things to do during our free days!), the room we stayed in was comfortable, and the breakfast was consistently delicious! Johan even gave us a tour of his wine cellar - quite an... More
